I see we have movies to watch when you're sick, and movies to pump you up, but what would you like to watch when you come home after the bar and just don't feel like going to bed yet.
I hardly drink at all anymore, but in my early 20s, I used to frequent a local dive with my friends. In those days, if I got partying, I certainly wasn't ready to sleep when the bar closed, so I'd go home and pop in a movie. On a few occasions, a couple of buddies would walk home with me, to crash on the couches or at least sober up before they drove home. Being gearheads and country fans, we usually popped in Smokey and the Bandit. Either that or Yellowbeard. Actually, those were my two top choices if I came home alone as well.
What do you (did you) like to watch late at night and drunk as hell, all alone or in a group.
"Run Ronnie Run" was pretty good while drunk. I've recommend it to people as "fun to watch while drunk"
I have a documentary called FETISHES. I think it was originally one of those late-night HBO or Showtime specials. It's great to watch when you're drunk. Another great one to watch under the influence is BETTY PAGE: BONDAGE QUEEN.
And music DVDs are always good, too. WOODSTOCK is probably the all-time champ . . .
I will usually pop in Demolition Man and laugh myself to sleep
The Rocky Horror Picture Show, or UHF.
I knew some guys who used to watch "Navy SEALS" drunk all the time. I tried, it's a s**tty movie no matter how drunk you get.
I recommend "Snatch" and "Lock Stock And Two Smoking Barrels". Pretty much anything with violence and weird lurches and twists in the narrative works for me.
My favorite thing to watch under the influence was the shop at home sports collectibles show when this guy named Don West used to host it. By far some of the most entertaining tv out there. Since he got dropped from the program it sucks.
I'm fond of the old "When Animals Attack" drunken double feature, Congo and Anaconda back to back.
You get not 1 knife for $19.99 but 100 knives... He's co-host of Nwa-Tna Wrestling now. it comes on weds nights. never seen it, but he's probably a good fit.
