This has to be the greatest first attempt at a film ever made. got the dvd at the weekend and it just gets better with every view! was anyone else a little put out by the lack of special features though?
. . . . I think that they made a lim. edition of the film on DVD? Is this still the one you bought? I just haven't gouged enough money to be able to spend $36-25 on the lim. ed., and would like to know if it does have good features? Really do want to know this, I truly value the film, but that price is sickening if only get a short feature about the feature.
edit: the limited edition is going for $36.00 on Amazon, has two discs, but only lists a featurette. (Perhaps the featurette-amabob is really just that long?)

Really great film, but I don't think I'm quite ready to shell out the cash for the DVD. I still have a grainy bootleg VHS cut of the film that is fantastic.
Some films just seem better on VHS. The cheap quality of this one fits it perfectly in that category.
It was a great film. Masterpiece.
Never upgraded to dvd either. Haven't watched it in a long time, makes me want to hum the theme song at the end now that I think about it.
The featurette is only half an hour long, but I still couldn't pass up the great-looking 2-disc version. The featurette's pretty cool, but the best part is to watch it and one of the Lord of the Rings featurettes back-to-back; the contrast between posh, bearded, sitting-in-an-easy-chair Jackson and punkass-kid-in-his-parents'-garage Jackson is priceless!
