. , , , So you're talking about the '85 Nesher version? It's like Warren H's reader review, the bridge steals the movie. I guess I'm also fond of the various tribes and their particular culture. I believe it's a spin-off from "Conan the Barbarian," from what I caught of the "I Love the 80's," but maybe not. I have grown to like the film less, however.

Yep, she did. Back in 1965. Also starring Peter Cushing and Christopher Lee. The only version, that I've seen. It contains, for my money, one of the most notorious bloopers ever seen in a film. One of the black extras, finding his wig is slipping off his head, reaches up and adjusts his wig, right in front of the camera. And what is more, this mistake or blooper, was never edited out of the film in the editing room.
Actually, this is one of the most filmed stories in movie history. The first version appearing in 1908 and thereafter in 1911, 1916, 1917, 1925, 1935, 1965, 1985, and 2001.
As for the 1935 version, it would feature the only screen appearance of Helen Gahagan, who would go on to marry actor Melvyn Douglas, and run against Richard Nixon for senator from California. In which race she would be labeled by Nixon as "The Pink Lady" for her liberal leanings.
