Has there been any good Sci-fi originals, ever?

if so, list them.

Do you mean Sci-Fi in general or the Sci-Fi Channel?

Sorry. My mistake. I mean the Sci-fi channel. And yes, every week they have a new original movie (almost every week) but are any considered good?

I've seen a couple that were quite decent. Dog Soldiers wasn't  bad at all and in fact was show n in theaters in Europe.

Most  of  the films made by UFO are pretty lame with a semi big name star that appears for maybe ten minutes in the film, but SciFi plays it up like they are the star.

UFO stands for Unified Film Organization. They have offices in California, but the studio is in Bulgaria.

I don't know about being good, but I have enjoyed many of them. :)

I quite positive that Dog Soldiers was not a SciFi original. I do remember it being on Sci Fi during the summer (I think it was summer.) and of course it was edited so I did not watch it (instead I went and rented the movie again.) But I have not watched any of Sci Fi's orignal movies.

Some of their original series have been quite good.  I dig Farscape a whole lot.

Amen "Lee"

and same with Brother R on Farscape, but I wouldn't give Sci Fi Channel any credit

.  .  .  .  Didn't scifi do Hypercube: Cube 2?  I think they made that film, as original programming?  Not as good as the original, and an even worse ending, but it was far better than I could've expected.

I do enjoy Tremors the Series, but it is based on a (or two or three) non Sci-Fi  channel movie(s).

SciFi buys a lot of stuff  and sticks the SciFi original  tag on them, like Stargate SG-1. They took it over after Showtime was going to cancel it  because it had done enough episodes for  a sweet syndication deal.  They did the same thing with Sliders.

They do list  Dog Soldiers as a  SciFi original, I think because they got an exclusive deal on showing before it went to DVD (plus the fact it wasn't released in theaters in the states).

Can't forget Beyond Re-Animator.  This film had the SciFi stamp on it, but was not made by SciFi.  Even at the theater, it had commercials for SciFi before the beginning of the film.

As for other SciFi originals, I stay far away from them.  Most tend to be crap, and not in a good way.

So far the only Sci-Fi orginals that were good was Dune, Taken and Battlestar Galactica.Everything else has pretty much sucked.
