Title: OT: Classmates.com
Post by: odinn7 on March 10, 2004, 03:29:39 PM
Is anyone here a "Gold Member" of Classmates.com? I am trying to get the e-mail address of a friend that I went to school with years ago and have been out of touch with for over 10 years. He is listed on the site but I cannot get his e-mail unless I want to sign up as a Gold Member. Seeing as I hate 98% of the people I went to school with, I can't picture spending the money. Gold Members can access any school and anyone's e-mail address once they are signed up. If anyone could help me out here, I would greatly appreciate it. I'm running out of options so I thought I would try here.
Thanks

I thought about becoming a Gold member but I can't see spending money on it when there aren't many people I would want to contact so I'm in the same boat as you.

I guess you REALLY have to want to contact someone to spend $$ on it.

Too bad that site isn't free....can you imagine how much traffic & business that site would get if it was!?

You could always just look them up in the Yahoo yellow pages or whatever that thing is.  Can't you look up people's addresses and phone numbers and such on the 'net somewhere?

Yes....I never use my phone book made of paper.
It just sits and collects dust.

I go to Qwest's http://www.dexonline.com/ and just type the name of a person or business in and it comes right up.

Remember, that dexonline is only for people who have Qwest as their phone provider.

The draw back to doing an online search for him is that he has moved long ago and I can't be sure where. I do a search in NJ where he used to live and I come up with 5 different phone numbers...all of which appear not to be him for one reason or another or are just plain outdated numbers.  You can no longer get free e-mail information on people like you used to be able to do years ago online. Now whenever you try that, they want you to pay for these background checks. This is frustrating. I was really hoping someone here could help me out but I see that most of us didn't like the people we went to school with. Oh well...

.  .  .  .  Maybe you could piggy-back someone who is a Gold Member, if anyone here is one?  I'm about four years out so I don't look up the stuff, sorry.

Classmates Gold membership does not show you anyones email address. You can  send them a classmates message which gets sent to their email.

Regardless...E-mail addres, no e-mail address. I was just hoping someone here would be able to help me contact an old friend.
