Title: House of the Dead
Post by: Evil Matt on March 15, 2004, 08:07:37 AM
I'm sure there's been a thread about this before, but I don't feel like looking for it...

Just caught this on Pay Per View the other day, wondering if it was as bad as I'd heard.  I have to say that it was, but that didn't stop me from enjoying it.  It's certainly not as good as some of the stuff I've seen recently ("Versus", "Six String Samurai", "Godzilla/Mothra/King Gidorah") but I sort of semi-liked it.  It's been awhile since someone's made something so awful that you can say "That there was one overwhelmingly stupid piece of crap" but not feel like you wasted TOO much of your time watching it.  Awful dialouge, inane plot, horrible stuntwork (you can see the springboards the kung-fu zombies jump off of to do their kung-fu zombie backflips)...Andrew really should review this one.

Sounds like my type of movie. I'll have to find it.

My most recent exposure to  ""That there was one overwhelmingly stupid piece of crap" but not feel like you wasted TOO much of your time", was last night with Octopus 2: River of Fear.

The last 30 minutes are pure gold.  Stupid scene after stupid scene.
It contains some of the worst on ladder climbing on a horizontal set,  I have ever saw.

P.S. All hail Six String Samurai.

I must admit I did enjoy this movie. But one question, did they have enough rotating camera shots in this movie?! GEEZ!

Thought the film was stupid, but absolutely friggin fun.  It was great to see a stupid horror film again.  Horribly directed, and acted.  Fantastic stuff!
