ROCKETSHIP X-M (1950) - This classic Sci-Fi film may have been intriguing in 1950 and maybe a bit dull for some. It has alot in common with the lesser UNKNOWN WORLD (1951) which goes underground instead of outer space. They are suppose to go to the moon, but end up going to Mars where they find the remains of a destroyed civilization and some stone age peoples. This film was shot in Southern Utah possible Bryce Canyon N.P. or Cedar Breaks N.M.
Do they make it back to earth? Check it out to find out.

I just watched the MST3K episode of this last night.
"Oh, it's you. I was just about to cut you up with a coathanger."
"Valda ree, valda ra, valda ree, valdaaaaagghhh Ricky!"
Brother R
And lets not forget the "Spitting over the edge of the cliff" gag.
"By now, my lungs were acheing for air..."
Loyd Bridges was tapped to play the first captain on Star Trek, but wouldn't take it because he didn't want to be type casted. Guess Rocketship X-M taught him something.
Bought it on DVD last year. A True Classic, you Philistines! Also pretty bleak in execution. How many expedition members survive?
Ya know...if we're not carefull, that satallite company will dredge it up for commercials.....hate to see that done to such prime cheese as this....
