does anybody like larry clark?? i have aproblem with this director and his films, i dont know if they are really horrid, or they are great, i have seen all his movies, they are disturbing, they are violent, they are disgusting, they are depressing, but are they beauty?? i dont know, its a funny feeling that i have everytime i watch "gummo", or "kids", i had to watch some of his films twice, just to get another impression.
as im not american i dont know if he shows only youth american cliches, or what.
so what u think??.
Don't really care for his movies. Guy just seems like a pervert. No real meaning to any of his films.
But, Gummo is actually pretty interesting. Actually directed by Harmony Korine if I'm not mistaken. A strange, weird, yet fun flick about the trash society of America.
Now that cock a doodle do song from gummo is stuck in my head
"kids" was basically one of those old ABC after school specials to me. There's a hong kong version of "kids" that kicks ass. I can't remember what it is called but it was directed by Johnny To. "Plaxed Out" or something like that.
yeah, Larry Clark is O.K. Kids was great and Ken Park was good. But, He seems too much like a pervert
I like Harmony Korine much better...Can't wait until Nun's the Word
Only movie of his I've seen is Teenage Caveman and that was the dumbest movie ever. Basically it was just about an orgy with a bunch of teens, it became a real overkill and pointless. I'll probably check out Kids though.
pervert?? i think he is just makeing a portrait of youth, i do belive that lots of teenagers act like the "kids""ken park" or "bully" characters, anyway, i have never meet people like that in my whole life, whatever, have any of u seen "necromantic" "aftermath" or "guinea pig" ?? thats what i call freak, and i do really think that u have to be a kind of pervert or a bit sick to film a think like that but films like kids only shows what it really happends in the streets.
I don't think "kids" is any more of an "eye opener" than Dawson's creek.
I like him a lot - "Bully", "Kids" and "Another Day In Paradise" are all great films.
