Title: B-movie Memorabilia
Post by: Chopper on May 04, 2004, 02:41:42 PM
Does anyone have any real cool b-movie/cult film memorabilia that they are real proud of? By memorabilia I don't necessarily mean anything expensive or outlandish. It could be anything as simple as a ticket stub to an old b-movie, or maybe even a toy from a certain era.

Some of my proud artifacts include a Friday the 13th original movie poster reprint, a framed Taxi Driver reprint, and an 8 x 10, black & white, press photo of Al Pacino in Scarface holding a gun, sitting at a table. It's funny too because the Scarface photo is in a woodframe that I bought from wal-mart, so it looks like I have some violent-blood-soaked criminal in a family picture frame! I always enjoy messing with newcomers to my room and telling them that it's a picture of my dad.

I have some movie posters but the thing that I think is the best belongs to my father. He has the original barf bag that they handed out to everyone that attended Mark of the Devil in theaters. He never wanted to see it but got talked into going. He told me it was the worst movie going experience he ever had. He's weak when it comes to violence in movies. I rented it years ago and found it quite tame really. The barf bag was definitely a cool idea though.

I used to have a surgical mask that they handed out at the box office when I saw BASKET CASE in the theater.  I either lost it or threw it away a long time ago.

yeah those barf bags remind me of the scratch and sniff cards they used during screenings of Polyester. pretty vintage movie gag idea, & much more creative than shoving mcdonald's toys in people's faces.
