Has anyone ever eaten at a Fuddruckers? It's a hamburger place where you order at the counter, go grab a seat, and they call your name on an intercom to come get your food. I was at one today with my family and someone - either an employee or I guess some kid reaching over the counter for the mike - came on the intercom and in a very frantic voice shouted: "Shut down all the garbage smashers on the detention level!! Shut down all the garbage smashers on the detention level!!!!" Of the maybe fifty people in the restaurant, I was one of like two people who got it. My kids are watching Star Wars tomorrow whether they like it or not.
That's Awesome.
A similar thing happened back in high school. One of my friends read the morning announcements over the school intercom system every morning during study hall. One day he ended with:
"Imperial Troops have entered the base! Imperial Troops have entered .......static"
"Oh curse my metal body I wasn't fast enough!"
I've shouted "TK421...why aren't you at your post?!?" more times than I care to think about.
I guess I'm showing my age, but . . .
To this day, whenever someone spills a drink, breaks a glass, drops something on the floor, falls down, etc., I have a tendency to blurt out, "Danger, Will Robinson!"

I dig Lost In Space, too. Watched it as a kid. Abhorred the remake movie (with William Hurt and Gary Oldman) a few years ago. "Danger Will Robinson" is a common phrase uttered around here....
Really, tho, one of the funniest spontaneous movie quotes I've ever heard was given by my wife. We quote movies ALL THE TIME, sometimes to the irritation of those within earshot (like doing "Airplane" quotes once on a flight to Miami during the whole flight). Anyway, once in church, before the service started, I gestured for her to sit closer to me. Without missing a beat, she said "You must give this American a wide berth" from the Hunt For Red October.
Now, I know that in the telling of it, it ain't that funny, but that was about six years ago, and we STILL laugh at it. I don't know, maybe something in her tone, the 'seriousness' of the church setting juxtaposed with the semi-seriousness with which Sean Connery said the line in the movie....
Who knows why we find things funny......
Ah, Lost in Space. I occasionally do a voice for one of our dogs (a sad looking Brittany Spaniel) that is very much influenced by Dr. Smith. "Oooooh, the pain!" Basically, I just make up the words to go with whatever he happens to be doing, or whatever goofy look he gives us. Gets a laugh now and then.
Actually, Briar originally had more of a Trumpy-inspired voice. "Can I eat it? It looks so good!" Perfect for a dog like him, but in time, it just kind of evolved into Smith.
I have inflicted my children with one-line 'quotes' and responses from old(er) tv and movies so thoroughly that they use them away from home - and get some very odd looks. My six-year-old says 'inconcieveable' at every appropriate opportunity. Drives his teacher nuts.
I teach kids to ride horses. "Danger, Will Robinson" is a stock phrase around here, used when things are headed for disaster.
I figure I am doing my bit to advance the cultural education of the next generation.
Just this morning, one of the local radio hosts used "Danger Will Robinson" a few times. It was the daily question, where a piece of statistical information is given, indicating that some segment of the population is more likely to do something under certain circumstances, and people call in and guess what it is. This morning, the question had to do with driving habits, and any time somebody guessed anything hazardous, like drinking and driving, falling asleep or whatever, this guy would respond with "Danger Will Robinson." Made me think of this thread right away.
Some friends of mine have a standing bet that noneof them can work "You must come with me to Alderaan" into a sensible conversation. Its not the same thing, but close.
Also I like to give my anme as "Donner" in restaurants when waiting for a table. ITs always fun to hear "Donner Party of 4".

Not a movie reference. The Donner Party was the group of pioneers that got caught in a blizzard in the Sierra Nevadas and ended up eating each other. Good joke for a restaurant.
