We all saw this comign but y'know you dont really expect it. I mean Hell Reagan was 93 years old it was like he was immortal or something, just kept going and going even after Alsheimers.
well RIP Ronnie, we enjoyed your contributions to our forums topics.
One of the most pivotal figures in world history. Most instramental in ending the cold war. A warm personality that really loved America.

He was good in Desperate Journey.
Come on I easily people forget the iran contra scandal?
I remember how a patriot like Oliver North was villified for doing what ever he could to help the hostages. What a shame ! I'm glad to see him get a good spot on FOX News. He deserves it. It may not have been the best way to do it, but he was making the effort.

I'll miss him, I like president's with personality.
He got this country out of a near depresssion, and he brought down the Soviet Union.
Even people who didn't like him respected him. I know he was the last president I've had any real respect for .
He will be missed.
While I disagreed with paying ransom to get hostages out, I applauded him on tax cuts (prior to Reagan, the highest income tax rate was 90%), and his stances on national defense (Star Wars bascially bankrupted the Soviet Union out of existence) and not compromising on the idea that liberty is everyone's birthright.
Hey Hollywood why not remake Bedtime for Bonzo?
Hail to the KING
Man, am I having 80s nostalgia. Reagan was president for a good part of the time I was growing up. Just thinking about him brings back memories of GI Joe, Mr. T, heavy metal and new wave, and Cannon Films.
Even as a Canadian, I can agree that no American president since has come close to matching him.
It is true that people often have a rosier view of leaders when they die. I saw that when Pierre Trudeau, a pivotal Canadian leader, died a few years ago. He was another charismatic, yet controversial figure, albeit on the opposite end of the political spectrum from Reagan.
However, if Iran-Contra is the worst thing that can be pinned on Reagan after eight years, that's not so bad. At least he was scandalized for trying to get something done, not for screwing around. The fact is, he accomplished a lot in his two terms - the controversial leaders often do.
As a history major Reagan is my favorite president. You must not forget that while he was quite a force who did what he felt he needed to be done in any case. He basically calmed down all of the global armed stuggle and ended the Cold War relatively peacefully. He also helped to launch the Peace Corp. etc.
My favorite quote of his is "Government is not the answer, it is the problem," maybe this should inspire more people to go out and do things.
Sure, he helped end the Cold War and brought new pride to America, but let's focus on the important stuff.....his movies! I think he got a bad rap as a bad actor. He gave good performances in several action/adventure films in the 30's & 40's, and then did some pretty good westerns in the 50's. I particularly enjoy his Brass Bancroft series from the late 30's, in which he played a daring Secret Service agent.
He was good as the new warden of a reform school in Angels Wash Their Faces, also good in Accidents Will Happen, and very nearly stole the show from Errol Flynn in Desperate Journey. I imagine TCM will be airing a retrospective soon (I hope),
