Title: OT: X-Box/ Playstation 2 Question
Post by: Daniel Johnson on June 27, 2004, 04:01:33 PM
Does anyone know if X-Box''s or PS2's can play PAL dvds?

Mine Ps2 can, but then again, I live in a PAL area so that's kind of pointless statement.

On the other hand, I don't think mine can play region 1 dvds, and only plays cheap asian ones on certain TVs [otherwise it's all black and white]

Even if it could, would an NTSC TV be able to correctly display the PAL picture? A long time ago, I used to have my Amiga hooked up to a TV and when I flipped it into PAL mode to run European software, the picture was all screwed up. Not only was the bottom cut off, but the lines at the top of the screen where all spaced widely apart, like a stretched spring.
