Has anyone seen this yet? I just got the dvd and love it! Havn't really searched the site, spose a lot of you already have but it is new to me.........
Really enjoyed it, I think it definately deserves a mention on this site!
Chadzilla reviewed it for my site a couple of weeks ago. Here's the link:
go about three pages back on the message board, there's a thread about the dvd with about 12 responses.
I saw it. It was awesome. But be warned, this is not a killer mummy movie, its a movie about Elvis and JFK. Mostly Elvis.
Watch the DVD while listening to the Bruce Campbell commentary- he does it in "Elvis" voice.
I was expecting a mummy movie and what I got was a highly original, even heartfelt movie. At the end I was just stunned.
I made my roommate take me to this film. I don't have a car you see, and the movie was playing almost fifty miles away (I live in Phoenix). He brought his friend, and to may amazement, not only did the both of them enjoy it, the entire audience seemed to "get" the whole film.
Of course, it's pretty easy to get this film. Mostly because it's absolutely hilarious. Still, you have to love it when an audience loves a film as weird as this.
If any of you enjoy this film, and I know a lot of you do, I highly recommend checking out Joe R. Lansdale's fiction. You'd be hard pressed to find a better short story writer nowadays. Especially one as filthy as Lansdale.
His novels are amazing as well.
Check him out, damn you!
Does anyone know about a uk release for Bubba? I just saw that it's available on dvd in usa, but can't find it here.
It never appeared in the cinema, maybe it will and it's just taking a while. Was it shown much in cinemas in u.s?
Can't wait to see it, it sounds amazing from what I've read.
This movie was very amusing - Easily Campbell's best! How can you wrong with a Black JFK as your sidekick?

Not bad, not great. A solid movie.
