Title: Butterfly Effect
Post by: Gecko Brothers on July 03, 2004, 09:26:15 PM
I rented the Butterfly Effect a couple days ago and only watched the director's cut and from the looks of it, I probably won't even bother with the theatrical version. It starts off in a mental hospital and a we one troubled Evan as he is saying he regrets life and wants to redo it. We then go to his child hood which is both interesting and disturbing we find out he keeps on getting black outs. Then we went to his college years where he is a very bright student. He passes out on a date and realize that he had just relived on his blackout periods. He wanted to see more from his past and ask his old child hood girlfriend who ends up killing herself right after they talk. Sad, he tries to recreate the experience. He is able to edit the past, but as we have learned from Time Machines stories bac things always happen. This movie is pretty obvious plus there was one rather okay scene in the film, but the rest suck including most of the acting. It is not worth even renting and the fact is not even the Infinifilm special features could make up for it's downfalls.
