I'm new to the b-rated movie scope. I need some help from some b-movie experts.
My friend's b-day is coming up and he's been searching for a b-movie for several years now. This movie is the 'holy grail' to him and he's been trying to find out anything about the movie ever since he saw it on our local cable television back when there were only say thirty channels (yes this was a long time ago). This is all I can remember from our discussion of the movie- it's about a man who created a female robot. She goes on killing rampages but never shows her evil side to her creator. In the end, the authorities come to his house, telling him that the robot is a killer. She implores to her creator as innocent as can be, turns to the cop, pulls her facial skin from her chin over her head and the movie ends. Does this sound like anything anyone has ever seen? If so, would anyone know the title, who's in it, or where I could find it? Thanks for the consideration.

Kid I was born into the three channel world! anyhow, this one is very easy. This is a great movie and is hard to watch just for the reason that the female robot bites off some guys jenetals. I was almost going to say this was Cherry 2000 but then I realized it was much deeper than that. The movie used to be shown alot on showtime in fact I do believe it was a movie made by showtime. The movie was called "Eve of destruction" and is about the Robot Eve who seems harmless but is going on a rampage in this second secretive life. Seems very much like this robot has a some split personality issues. She tries to find love but the problem is her programming is screwing up. She really only wants to be loved by this one man and would do anything to gain his love only to kill many around him to get to him.

Another one Im trying to find is Mask not the Jim carrey movie but this movie about a serial killer who likes to kill families at parties and leave them with party favors on all bloodied up. This movie is pre 1986 but is very awsome to me.
Some girl I know also knows the name of this great movie about some bandits who kidnap a teacher and all these children from school while they were wearing creature masks. This is another good movie which it gone now but I will try finding it. When I find these movies I'll be sure to post a review or somthing.
I'm not sure. I thought in Eve Of Destruction that the woman who created the robot very much knew what was going on; the robot escaped and Gregory Hines (as an army general(?)) was chasing her down before she self destructed with a nuclear explosion.
The movie sounds vaguely familiar but it doesn't sound like Cherry 2000 or Eve Of Destruction
I haven't seen it in many years, but it sounds sort of like Wes Craven's DEADLY FRIEND.
wow I wasnt expecting much when I checked IMDB but it has the late Gregory Hines as the films star. sounds do-able...well almost, least we have 1 guy who can act.
None of these movies sounds quite right. If the fembot reveals itself by pulling it's face off, it's probably something from the seventies. I think the deal with Eve of Destruction was that she had a nuclear bomb inside her and once she was activated some kind of domesday program went into effect or something. Not that I've seen it. This sounds almost more like one of the newer Outer Limits episodes with the gynoid in love killing everyone.
LIke the Burgomaster, I haven't seen it in years, but this does sound like "Deadly Friend". It seems to jibe with my memories of that flick, plus DF used to be a constant late night staple on local TV and TNT when I was younger, to the point I would get p**sed off when I saw it was on YET AGAIN (kind of like the TV movie "Gargoyles" another film that got shwon way too much for it's own good. A couple of the user comments/reviews describe an ending similar to the one in the OP.
It might be another film but I doubt it unless someone can come up with a more likely suspect. Maybe if Melanie can find out or rmember if her friend recalls an infamous "death by basketball", then we'll know we have the right flick.
I'm almost 100% sure the film you described is Deadly Friend. This was a film that seriously scared the crap out of me as a child.
If I remember correctly, the face ripping scene happens at the very end. But if memory serves me, it happened in a morgue? I don't quite remember now.
It's been a while, but I think the face ripping happens in a dream at the end of Deadly Friend. Sort of one last jolt after everything is over. She didn't actually have a robot inside, just a chip in her brain.
The thing that makes me doubt that this is the movie is that the scene with the police doesn't sound right. She doesn't reveal a robot face, but rather her human brain finally begins to take over, as it was supposed to do, just in time for her to be blown away.
Man, I have to see that movie again. I can still remember, years ago, renting it along with Chopping Mall, for a double-bill of robot mayhem.
I don't know if it's Deadly Friend or not, but in the interest of narrowing it down, here's a more complete description of the movie;
Matthew Laborteaux (Little House on the Prairie) stars as a genius high school student who has his own robot and likes the girl next door, Kristy Swanson. First, his robot is destroyed by a mean old woman who blasts it with a shotgun, then Swanson is knocked down the stairs and put into a coma by her abusive father (stepfather?).
When Matthew finds out that they're going to turn off her life support, he gets the idea that if he implants a chip from his robot into her brain, it can keep her alive until her brain recovers. So he and a friend sneak her out of the hospital and he performs the operation. She lives, but seems a little zombie-like.
He keeps her hidden, but she sneaks out to take revenge on the people that hurt her/it. She kills the mean old woman by smashing her head with a basketball, and leaves her father to burn to death in the furnace in their home. Matthew discovers that she's been killing people, but coevrs it up. At one point he has a nightmare where he sees something moving under his covers on the bed and when he pulls them off, it's a burned head.
In the end, she seems to be returning to normal, but when the police show up, she reverts to the robot personality, charges at them and they kill her. In a final part tagged on at the end, Matthew goes to the morgue and opens the drawer that she's in. She opens her eyes and grabs him by the neck. As he tries to get her hands off him, the skin rips to reveal metal, then her faces splits apart to reveal the reobot's face. Then he wakes up.
That definetly is Deadly Friend, I saw it a bunch of times.
