Title: Elektra (2005)
Post by: Ash on July 06, 2004, 06:44:56 PM
Apparently Jennifer Garner is going to return as Elektra from the "Daredevil" movie.

Here's the plot summary:

"In this spinoff of the blockbuster hit Daredevil, Jennifer Garner reprises her role as martial arts master Elektra, who is trained by a gang of ninjas known as the Hand. When she decides to strike out on her own, they come after her with a furious vengeance."

I think it actually sounds pretty good!
I may just go see this one.

Here's the latest pic of Garner in a new and improved costume.

What do you think?
Will you go see this one?

As Daredevil is my favorite comic book character, I will happily see this movie - Will I enjoy it? that remains to be seen.

Yes, being a Frank Miller fan, I will definitely go and see it. After all, it can hardly be worse than the Daredevil movie.

My thoughts exactly, and thus will be the reason I see this movie.  Who cares about plots and such, when you have someone like her on a 50ft screen right in front of you.
Just my oppinion.  :)

I don't know about that, as a spin off it's got a lot more ground to cover and will most likely, at best, be entertaining.  This one hasn't got a chance for being remembered as a groundbreaking great movie.  It can [and quite likely, will] be worse than Daredevil; but only if it tries to take itself seriously.  If they have a bit of fun with Elektra, it may very well be ok.

I thought she died in DAREDEVIL, but this movie could take place after she trains as a Ninja but before she meets DAREDEVIL.

It appeared to me that she did not die.  If you remember, Daredevil found her necklace or locket or something hanging from somewhere on the roof near the end of the movie.  My interpretation is that she hung it there to let him know she was alive.

Comic characters do have an uncanny ability to come back from the dead - it must be one of those generic abilities like being able to fit in the costumes or come up with one liners while getting your ass kicked/ kicking ass.

But from the outline Ash provided it sounds as though it'll be set before Daredevil...

I imagine it will suck and serve pretty much exclusively as a means for Garner to establish herself as a big screen star. I agree with the Catwoman analogy.
