Title: Wrestling Gold (Busted Open) DVD
Post by: Scott on July 21, 2004, 12:24:36 PM
WRESTLING GOLD: BUSTED OPEN This is another "old school" wrestling DVD from Southwest Championship Wrestling in the early 80's. A co-worker let me borrow this great DVD it feature many great matches, some of the best ever available on a commercial product. Many stars were on this DVD, so I'll only name a few of the best matches on this 2 hour disk. You won't be dissappointed with this one hosted by Jim Cornette and Dave Meltzer.

Bruiser Brody vs Abdullah the Butcher - Two of the most brutal wrestlers ever in the "king of sports" that is pro wrestling.

Jerry "The King" Lawler vs Bob "Brusier" Sweetan - Great psychological match ptting two of the best piledrivers in the business.

Dick Slater vs The Mongolian Stomper - Great steel cage match with two of my nostalgic favorites.

I miss the old days. Wrestling used to be so much better.

No doubt, they have forgotten the simpler stuff and like a movie everyone wants high impact flash that in my opinion is actually boring. The Jerry Lawler match is classic showmanship.

I'm sure it's been mentioned here before but if you haven't seen it, "Beyond the Mat" is the real deal about what goes on behind the scenes in wrestling.

It's a serious docementary and is utterly riveting in my opinion.

Just finished 10 hours of great vintage wrestling action of DVD from the Wrestling Gold set. Wow, I highly recommend these 5 DVD's as they really give you the greats from the 70's and 80's from many promotions like Southwest, Mid-South, Indiana, Detroit, Montreal, and Memphis where the best wrestling comes from.

Some of my favorites were The Shiek (original) in matches against Andre The Giant, Tiger Jeet Sinhg, Mark Lewin. This is a real library of wrestling action that a true fan will not want to miss. A co-worker got it off the internet from Best Buy for $25. That's 5 disk with 10 hours of classic wrestling action.

Scale of 1 - 10 this series is a 10. The best you may ever be able to find. Hard to believe they are all in one set.
