Very vague details. All I remember is it was either during or post nuclear bombs. I'm sure they were australian, underground perhaps. Young people but i don't recall that many
All that came to my head was night of the comet...but that is neither post nor during nuclear bomb...sorry
Right era loyal, I want to think it was early to mid 80's. I don't think you ever see the outside world, something nuclear I believe. I'll try to remember more..but quite sure it's Australian. I watched it late one nite years ago..funny how bits and pieces of things stay in your head to torment you for the rest of your life
Susan:
SOLARBABIES, perhaps?
no burgo, a movie revolving around a glowing ball and jamie gertz on rollerblades is not easy to forget..lol
Australian accents...i think it's a more obscure film
I was thinking "The Quiet Earth" but that's a New Zealand production.
That's the one with the guy who wakes up after an experiment gone wrong and he's the only one left on earth.
I don't think that's it though.
Ash - i don't know but you're on the right track I think. The best i can remember, it seems like it took place in one building..the whole movie was inside this building, like a theater or radio station or something.
Possibly Def-Con 4 (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0087130/)
maybe Z for Zacharia? I know that had to do with post nuke, but you saying something about a radio station...I feel like I know that. Now you have me going crazy trying to remember..lol!
Yeah, and it seems like it revolved around a guy, but it was literally just a few people..they were young like teenageish or a bit older. But for some reason they didn't go outside, which is why I don't know if the nuclear war was going on or it was just post..but they were stuck in this building. Alot of conversations..kind of depressing
I'm convinced I saw this years ago, but have no idea who was in it, or can even guess at the title.
When my local low-rent independent station used to still show movies, most of them were from something called the "Movie Greats Network" (a very low rent syndicator, I guess) Most of the movies were cheap, dull, and/or lousy independent stuff from the 70s and early 80s. "Blood Song" with Frank Avalon, "Mako, Jaws of Death", and "Nightflyers" were about the highest profile films they had. And most of the best stuff they showed was foreign, not counting the couple of "Carry On" flicks they had. They had an Aussie film that sounds like the one the OP is looking for.
Was there a scene where the teenagers dress up in fancy clothes and dance or try to have a formal dinner? I think someone panics and runs up on the roof and they all follow, and maybe they see the sunrise and realize they are safe? I may have details wrong, but I remember the kids being worried about the end of the world quite often during the movie.
This wasn't the one where they're all trapped in a drive in movie theatre, was it?
Dear god after much searching I have found it!! Now i guess me and the three other people in this world who have seen it can rest in peace. I can't really find much else of it on the net tho.
MYSTERY MOVIE REVEALED! (http://imdb.com/title/tt0087844/)

I can't believe you found it...sweet!
Glad you found it, Susan. I'm convinced this is the same film from my post but have no way to be sure.
Yaddo - I know. I doubt it's the kind of movie that's going to be available in video stores - even mom and pop shops. Maybe netflix
