After wasting my money seeing THE VILLAGE, I decided that I needed to spend even MORE money. So I eased on down to Best Buy and purchased:
* THE OSTERMAN WEEKEND (2 DVD set)
* BLOODSUCKING FREAKS (I haven't seen this one in about 15 years)
* ORGY OF THE DEAD (screenplay by Ed Wood)
* BADder SANTA (the unrated version)
* VENOM (what can you say about a movie featuring a kidnapping, a black mamba, Susan George, Oliver Reed, and Klaus Kinski? THANK YOU, BLUE UNDERGROUND!)

Burgo,
Bloodsucking Freaks is a great choice. I hope to finally own it on DVD someday.
Badder Santa was decent. Had some fairly funny scenes while some fell flat. Terry Zwigoff is still an awesome director.
As for the rest, I can't say I've ever seen them. Is Osterman Weekend any good? I've seen it on the shelf a few times but haven't really considered it.
OSTERMAN WEEKEND is good only if you're a Sam Peckinpah fan. Actually, the movie is pretty slow and dry in a lot of places. I enjoy it mostly for Peckinpah's direction, camera work, and editing in 5 or 6 scenes. I would say that the average non-Peckinpah fan would probably turn it off about half way through. It is very talky.
Another note about THE OSTERMAN WEEKEND: the DVD has the original theatrical version as well as Peckinpah's full-length screening version, which has never been released until now.

Orgy of the Dead was painful. Not as bad as Showgirls, but still painful, and that's taking into account all the naked breasts.
Burgomaster haven't seen BAD SANTA yet.
BLOODSUCKING FREAKS is a must see. I'd place it on my top 20 films.
ORGY OF THE DEAD is a must for Ed Wood fans or just anyone who likes weird films. Yes, it is painful viewing. The werewolf and the mummy will make you cringe, but The Amazing Criswell's fine performance saves the day.
Hmm. This was the first movie where I actually cringed at the nudity. And that was after having my mother attempt to cover my eyes during the bathing scene in Barry Lyndon.
Still, I suppose I could see it again.
Bad Santa was funny, people getting punched inthe nether regions and all. Much edgier than I first anticipated.
Anything troma distributes has to be gold, RIGHT!?!?!?
Venom is a great purchase. Blue-Underground's DVD is very nicely planned and has some great features for obsessive fans. I rather enjoy every purchase I make from their stock and I'm sure Venom will not disappoint.
