Three films previews have caught my attention and I really want to know what you think:
A) Constantine - I know I know, Keanu Reeves is NOT British. I know, who cares, this looks like a role he is competent of just like in The Matrix, and Devil's Advocate. Plus how can you not like Rachel Weisz being pulled through a building. I want to see this opening day who else?
B) Hero - Finally another epic from Asia is out. This one stars the incomparable Jet Li, one of my faves for sure. He was very good in Romeo Must Die, and excellent in Kiss of the Dragon. People are equating this movie to Enter the Dragon (which I am trying to desperately find so as to rent it.) Tarrantino also brought over Iron Monkey I believe, which while boring, had incredibly good fight scenes. I cant wait for this.
C) Anacondas: Hunt for the Blood Orchid- If done correctly this could be the next Dawn of the Dead, a fun cornball, well made flick. It is so funny without trying. Does anybody know if they are releasing an updated version of Annaconda? That was a fun part of my youth, and my first ever PG 13 movie, so I would like to buy an amped up copy.
One other question, does anyone know if there will ever be a release of Robert Rodriguez' The Faculty. THAT is a great film.

I've seen Hero... it's like Crouching Tiger but on a bigger scale but really, not the great film it could have been.
I thought Hero was fantastic. Very good film. I watched it first on VCD and the quality was crap, yet it was still a beautiful, well made film.
I don't really see much, if anything wrong with it, and I'd say it and Crouching Tiger are pretty much even [though Crouching T is probably one up for being out first]
Dunno how I feel about Constantine as of yet. The early shots of the film look good, but it will be rated PG-13.........
Hero looks extremely good. It will be great to have some more good Asian cinema. I've been looking forward to this one since '02.
Anacondas - I almost loathe the original, yet like it at the same time. Completely awfu l waste of film.....yet entertaining. I doubt I'll see the sequel at the theater. Rental
After hearing about "Hero" for so long, watch it not play in my area despite the opening everywhere line in the ads. It's a damn shame what wide releases don't make to my neck of the woods sometimes. Basically anything that isn't opening on 2000+ screens nationwide rarely makes it here.
