There are so many posts about this I didn't know where to put it, so what the hell I started another one.
I haven't seen this movie yet, but after reading this article I think I will wait until the Directors cut. Some may say it is BS, but it really sorta looks like the cut of the movie in theaters was not all his fault. Fox apparently made the final cut.
Judge for yourselves.
Anderson Q&A (http://www.bloody-disgusting.com/index.php?Show=2378&Template=newsfull)
I'm gonna get the Directors Cut, count me in! at least he explained a few things that didn't make sense. I was surprised how he thought that from a filmmakers point of view he thought he had succeded but as a fan of the orginals he was p**sed off. I kinda seperate this movie away from the other six.
Yes, this was very informative. Having liked what I saw in theatres, I feel I will enjoy the director's cut even more, but sometimes I wonder.... The extra scenes in Aliens were pointless, and the extra scenes in Alien Ressurection really did actually drag down the whole entire movie. So, extra scenes sometimes don't mean a lot
While I'm still wary about it, reading that made me feel a lot better about this piece of crap movie. I had a feeling the PG-13 bulls**t was Fox's fault, as Anderson had said in many pre-release interviews that the movie was going to be totally balls-to-the-wall action for two straight hours. I'll definitely give the director's cut at least a rental to see just how much of the crap was Anderson's fault, and how much was Fox's.
I would have asked him why he chooses to rip off bits and pieces from better movies.
