for all my fellow DVD addicts out there Evilspeak (with the legendary Clint Howard-Ice Cream Man) & Chopping Mall are now available on DVD.
Evilspeak is supposed to be pretty gruesome. it's about a nerd in a military school who gets shunned by society. the solution? he conjures up evil spirits from his computer to help out with his body count. sounds right to me!
and i'm sure you all have atleast heard of the notorious Chopping Mall. but the DVD to this doesn't have any extras, i guess the filmmakers don't give a crap about it, haha!
Evilspeak has a decent DVD release, and it's a good movie. I tried to find Chopping Mall, but could not elicit any success at Suncoast.
yeah i saw it on amazon for sale, but deep discount dvd hasn't gotten it the last time i checked.
I didn't like EVILSPEAK when I saw it back in the 1980s. I'll have to give it another try.
cheapest I found Chopping Mall was on bestprices.com, it was $9 something, hopefully Deepdisount gets it, I want free shipping.
never heard of Evilspeak, will check that out
Never seen "Evilspeak", but I've heard Jo Bob mention it so many times over the years as one of his all-time favorite drive-in movie that I want to.
Rented "Chopping Mall" years ago and have seen it on TV a few times. It's decent compared to other "kids locked in a mall with something evil" flicks, but not a favorite, I'm indifferent about now knowing there's of it available. I guess I was expecting something a little more off kilter when I saw Paul Bartel and Mary Woronov in cameos at the the beginning. Doesn't Gerrit Graham have a bit part also, he's in the film just long enough to get killed?
good question Yaddo, but sorry i still haven't seen either of them. but from Joe Bob and 'jga's' words of recommendation i'll probably definitely check out Evilspeak. i love Clint Howard in the Ice Cream Man anyways, he's such a colorful psycho in that one haha.
IMDB lists Graham playing the role "Technician Nessler".
Of course it also says Jim Wynorski directed and co-wrote it, probably explains why it's not a favorite of mine. I've never been a fan of his work. But from my memories of CM, it's still much better than most of his flicks. "Ghoulies 4" anyone?
haha, Ghoulies 4, wicked. i don't even remember getting to part 3, i used to love those little bastards when i was a kid.
I still wish they'd kept the original title of Kilbots, it fits the movie better. Anyone else notice that the treads on the robots were way too wide to actually fit on the escalators?
"Anyone else notice that the treads on the robots were way too wide to actually fit on the escalators?"
haha! now i definitely have to see this.
