What do you all think is the most gruesome death in a horror film.I think the gothic guys death in bride of chucky
"Here have a marshmallow on a very sharp skewer" from "Happy Birthday To Me". They didn't actually show it going through his softpallet and brainstem or anything, but the notion did make me want to eat without utensils for awhile.
I thought Bride of Chucky was pretty tame.
Naked Blood: Girl cuts off her vagina, eats it with a knife and fork. Does the same with her nipples. Then all of a sudden jams the fork into her eye, pulls it out, then blood gushes from her empty eye socket as she proceeds to eat it.
Society: It's hard to explain. Very strange slimey death where a guy sticks his hand up the guy's ass and his hand comes out of his mouth. You have to see it to believe it, the infamous "Shunthing" scene.
The Beyond: Bunch of obviously fake spiders eat this guy's face while he's paralyzed on the floor. Hilarious.
Okay... well after the "Naked Blood" one, I'm tempted not to post mine... but I will anyway. I'm not necessarily posting the most GORY ones, but maybe some more creative and\or disturbing.
The scene in "Resident Evil" where they're in the corridor and the lazer things cut them into pieces.
In "Fargo" when the guy was put into a wood chipper, it made me cringe. It was the idea of it more than what they showed.
There was an episode of the X Files where these people contract a deadly virus thing. They get these NASTY boils on them that get HUGE- they then explode this white stuff all over, which is how others contract it. The victims are foaming at the mouth all the while. Once the boil explodes, the person dies.
I know of more violent, gory, and bloody ones, but I opted to post these because they're the ones that jumped out when I read the post.
The scene in Fulci's "Zombie" where the girl's eyeball is impaled on a rather large splinter was unpleasant. Then again, it's late-70s/early-80s Italian horror, so that's more or less par for course.
The resident evil one was just a copy of the cube lazer scene really.
gruesome eh?hmmmmmm........
Jake being..well 'bloodied' to death in Evil Dead 2
The moms death in night of the original living dead
Rhodes death in 'day of the dead'.
jock guys death in freddy Vs jason( the bed kill)
gut burster in "hannibal'
The resident evil one was just a copy of the cube lazer scene really.
You mean the razor wire that turned the guy into bullion cubes? That's what I thought of when I read thae abouve post
In "Fargo" when the guy was put into a wood chipper, it made me cringe. It was the idea of it more than what they showed
==============================
I saw something simular to that in the movie Downtown with Forrest Wittaker and Anthony Edwards in a scene where one guy got on top of a car trying to strangle Edwards' character. The car's in motion, going out of control, until the car stops abruptly, sending the guy on top flying off the car into the wood chipper, resulting in a very bloody splat on the hull of a ship (they were in the docks).

Bulls**t!! I still can't hear you, sound off like you gotta pair
Pretty much any death from the original Toxic Avenger.
The kid that Bozo & Co. run over in their car and then back over his head and take pictures. (when I first saw that scene I never laughed so hard in my life!)
Then Slug's girlfriend later masturbates to the photos in the sauna.
YUCK!!
The drug dealer lifting weights and Toxie drops them on his head.
Gross!
The restaurant scene where Toxie rips that guy's arm off and then stuffs him in the oven.
His accomplice who gets made into a human fudge sundae and then has his hands roasted in french fry oil.
Hilarious!

Remember the beginning scene when the wire cutes everyone to pieces...the most gruseme deaths at once!
1) Slugs: A man eats a salad full of cannibal slugs. At first he only has bellyache, but latter on his face explodes in blood and you can see small slugs swimming in blood around his skull and eyesockets.
2) Dagon: An old sailor gets skinned to death.
3) Mindhunters: Someone gets his lower half of the body frozen with liquid nitrogen, then falls to the ground. Later on, another person is killed getting his face lashed with hooks, and its corpse gets sort of mechanically reanimated. Seing somebody so extremely wounded move was very intense.
This doesnt actually count as a death, but it is very gross- the scene in Brain Dead (I think its called something else in America) where the zombie mothers infected arm squirts blood and pus into their guests custard, and he eats it with his eyes closed... savoring every mouthful! Yuck!
Also the Lust death from Seven was pretty disturbing.
And the head explosions from the Scanners movies.
I am sorry, but the alien out of the butthole thing is just narley! Hmmmm, "narely", let us just pretend I did not say that...ok?
thanks!
The fire extinguisher vs head scene near the beginning of "irreversible" It's not a horror flick, it's a rather pretentious french art-thriller...but that sequence actually shocked the hell out of me... and Ive been desensitized for years on whacko nasty stuff like biotherapy, men behind the sun, brain dead, DOTD, etc
"Brain Dead" is called "Dead Again" in America. There's a review here, my friends loved the priest part.
"Come in Neville. Sound's odd dosen't it, come in, Neville." What's your quote from? I like it.
I remember that part me and my best friend and his family at his house watch it and was gross by it but also was laughing about it.
What about the part almost at the end when the two guys were eaten fresh food in the cans but found out they were eaten rotting food with maggots YUCK!
Actually, it's called Dead ALIVE, but hey, it's chill.
The most gruesome death scene I've seen in a movie? Hmmm...the suicide in the Rules of Attraction. Realistic. Beautiful. You can't take your eyes away. It's not over-the-top, it's rather generic (girl slits her wrists with a razor blade), but the whole way the scene is shot makes it brutally magnificent.
I don't think this would count as gruesome, but in the french movie Baise Moi, there was a guy that shot in his a***ole. Not very gruesome, but very embarassing.

I still remember being so distrubed the first time I saw Alien. To have that thing on your face and then to have it burst out of your chest is just brutal. They did a good job with it in Alien Ressurection, when the infected guy put's the doctor's head to his chest.
Also, how about the Omen? that had some really abrupt really awful deaths, including Damien throwing his "mother" off the ledge and the silent battle between Peck and the nanny.
But as for most Gruesome, how about the cop being killed in Reservoir Dogs? That movie is one of my least favorites due to that scene.
Hellraiser had some awesome flesh being pulled apart deaths too.
Don't Go in the House - A psycho kidnaps women, chains them up naked in a room in his house, douses them with gasoline and then uses a flame thrower on them.
Most anything from Maniac but especially the shotgun blast through the windshield scene.
Yeah, it was definetly Dead Alive. What the hell was Dead Again?
Speaking of The Omen: What I always remember (although there's a slight chance this is from an entirely different movie) is the pane of glass slidding off of the truck and cutting the guy in half. Just now remembered something that might have been in one of the sequels, where a lightning rod comes off of a church steeple and impales a priest in a standing position. I'm pretty sure it was Omen 3 where Damien's being interviewed on TV an a guy (who was probably trying to kill him) had a pretty complicated accident. I think he was on a catwalk, his foot caught in an extension cord or something, he falls off and swings into a bunch of plastic sheets that stick all over him and then catch on fire somehow, so he's swinging in front of the (live, I think) TV camera covered in burning plastic.
Frankly i've seen alot of nasty death scenes in films. But for some reason the one that always creeped me out was the first scene in "Ghost Ship" where everyone on the dance floor gets severed. Otherwise the film itself is pretty lame, but that scene has marred me for life!
=:-O

I'm surprised no one's mentioned the death scene's in The Thing yet, the worst one being Window's death followed by Norris' turning into a thing scene. Those are two of the more gruesome and brutal that I can think of right now.
Personally, I have to go with the botched execution in The Green Mile. I have trouble watching that scene to this day.
Ghost Ship, Jason Vs. Freddy.

Or at the begining and when that girl opens up the closet and that little girl is hanging and those other parts like that guy was seeing that girl and he falls and falls intill he falls on spikes and that guy that got drounded and those ppl who got shot so many death sences!!!!
1. How about the scene were Thomas cuts up Morgan
2. And The one were he sticks the hammer in kempers head
3. Or the one were he cuts up pepper into pieces in that puddle of mud
4. that hitchhiker when she bloows a whole through her head with a pistol GRUESOME!
Palmer's mutation in The Thing. Definately.
"Oxen Split Torturing"
This movie is a long, unbearable death scene...
(it´s just that well-known gore-nonsense)
hey!!! THE KNIFE!!!!!!!!!!
The bathtub scene in "I Spit on Your Grave" is the nastiest death scene in the history of movies. I can't believe it has not been mentioned yet in this list. You people don't know your B movies!
Another one that disturbed me is when the two girls kill the mother in Peter Jackson's "Heavenly Creatures." Very disturbing.
Dagon (2001)- The face skinning scene.
The Fly 2 (1989)- The elevator scene and acid-to-face scene.
Demons (1985)- Woman gets her scalp ripped off by a zombie.
Wishmaster (1997)- Guy gets his jaw ripped right off.
Ok..it isnt a horror flick.."Wild at Heart" with Laura Dern and Nicholas Cage.. I am talking about the scene where Willem Dafoe dropped the shotgun and blows his own head off. That movie was weird and I always think about that when the word gruesome is mentioned. Also the scene in "Humannoids from the Deep" where the pregnant ladies belly pops..we don't see it but we hear it..ugh!
