KOTOR2 will run on the same engine as the first KOTR game- so gameplay/graphics will be very similar- which is great.

I'm sure the design team has come up with some great new weapons and force powers since KOTOR first came out (not having to construct a game from scratch allows for a LOT of free time retooling).

The only real way KOTOR2 can fail is by carrying a bad storyline. The story from KOTOR was outstanding, and it'll be tough to beat.

Yeah, I agree with nobody - other than a few new weapons, crystals and force powers this will look and play ostensibly the same way.

In my experience though, story is where games can go horribly wrong - I mean, just look at Deus Ex 2. You'd have to have been a tard to screw up a follow on to DX but they managed it.

Anyway, it's got the chance to be great but whether it is or not... who knows.

Yeh But the Thing is the story isn't made by bioware like the first one is it's made from Obsidian I mean Bioware did a good job on the first one but I don't get why they didn't do the second one

I'm not actually sure why they didn't get to make the second one, to be honest but while Obsidian is a new company it's got alot of experienced programmers and suchlike a couple of whom are from Bioware.

Apparently Bioware will be helping on a few technical issues or something but won't have much direct involvement. I assume that Obsidian managed to make a more tempting bid to Lucas Arts for the right to make a sequel. I'd probably be happier with Bioware at the helm but I guess we'll find out in time.
