Yeah I was the one who posted the stills last week.
I watched this trailer yesterday and I must say that it looks like an acceptable action flick. Fishburn, Byrne, and Dennehy!? I'll be there opening day.trek_geezer wrote:

Ja rule needs to stay out of movies!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Might get a chance to see the original soon.
I've only seen the original once, it was on IFC. Definitely a 70's indie film which was Carpenter's second movie. It's cheap ($60,000) and is based on Howard Hawks Rio Bravo.
The new version has little in common other than the seige plot. The characters, location, and other subplots have been totally changed. It looks like it may be good, but I doubt this one will have the 'charm' or atmosphere of the original.
