At a recent sale of Holloween stuff at my local hardware store I picked up 3 great titles for $3 on VHS. Thats $1 dollar each. The titles were:
The Brain that Wouldn't Die
Giant Gila Monster
First Spaceship to Venus
This is my best purchase ever.
Here are some recent titles that I taped on AMC recently:
Deadly Mantis
Black Sabbath
Dr. Terrors House of Terror( or horror?)
First off - few things are better than watching a real Gila wander through pieces of scale railroad terrain while actors do their thing. Second - what in the world does a happy mushroom have to do with a physically disabled girl?
Andrew
Hello Andrew, how have you been? It's been hard to get into strange, weird, and bizarre films with the recent news over the past two months. Your site is still my favorite stop on the internet.

Scott,
Thank you. I have been overwhelmed lately. Between just upkeeping the site and my Marine Corps duties I never seem to get enough sleep, but recently being a Marine is taking away from time the site usually enjoys. One of the pitfalls of having a webmaster in the military.
Film is one of my enjoyable pastimes. So, if anything, I've been trying to make sure I watch one or two new movies every week. Being blessed with an active imagination helps me lose myself in something like "Prisoners of the Lost Universe" for ninety minutes.
Andrew
Well, hopefully the world will turn out all right, so that more bad movie can be made for our viewing pleasure. Your duties are making you part of history. God Bless you buddy.
Andrew, please tell me more about the happy mushroom and the physically disabled girl. I MUST KNOW MORE!!!!!
Man. that sounds like some kind of drug refrence to me. Dang....does that scene bother you as much as it does me? Even in the MST version, i gotta skip it.
But the MST version of WHAT? What movie are we talking about?
The Giant Gila Monster. Been a while since I've seen it, but I do remember a mildly-upsetting, ultra-cloying scene where a disabled girl learns to walk (a la Forrest Gump, but without the benefit of a chase scene). Don't remember any happy mushrooms...
i had to check this...
MUSHROOM: the girl with the leg braces falls down and her older brother sings her a song about a "sad little mushroom" and how "the lord said laugh children laugh".
it occurs around the 39-minute-mark on my stunning dvd copy of this epic special effects masterpiece.
I didn't check but I think he sings the song again later on as well.
PS:
Andrew's got a wav of the song in the Giant Gila review...yet it does not include the now legendary mushroom reference...i suspect Andrew owns rights to the movie and wants to sell copies by hooking everyone with the mushrooms angle...

Not true! Actually, the third wav file is part of that darn song. We go from happy mushrooms to the Lord telling children to laugh. Strange stuff.
