Title: Bad baseball movies
Post by: Mofo Rising on November 05, 2001, 01:03:51 AM
Well, the Diamondbacks take it.  Being an Arizona resident, I guess this makes me legally obligated to be happy (even though I've never been a fan of sports).

So in honor of this auspicious occasion, I thought I'd ask the much needed question, "What is the worst baseball movie ever made?"

I would nominate something, but I really haven't seen too many.  Could it be MAJOR LEAGUE 3: BACK TO THE MINORS?  Should we include softball so Troma's SQUEEZE PLAY can be honored?  I'm sure more knowledgeable minds than my own can find something to nominate.

By the way, can you believe Sam Raimi directed FOR LOVE OF THE GAME?

-disney's "angels in the outfield" with christopher lloyd.
-tbs used to show a bad movie about a kid who had surgery on his arm that made him be able to throw a ball real fast, so he started pitching in the bigs.  it sucked pretty bad too.  i don't remember the name of it.

I'm side stepping the topic a bit for the Arizona resident.  For everyone here in New York, may I say: In order to be the best, you got to beat the best.  And  the Diamondbacks are now the best.  I congradulate you.

Don't know if this counts as bad, or strictly a Baseball movie, but my wife nearly called an ambulance for me when I watched BASEketball, as I was laughing so much I couldn't breathe. Had it killed me, I think that would have been bad.
