On Jan. 8 after a day of repeat snake, rat , and spider movies SciFi will be showing their preimiere of "King Cobra" (1999).
From the reviews I've read I think I will have to see this one. A giant hybrid of cobra and diamond back rattler(animatronic, no cgi) set loose on a small town. Hey it's got Pat Morita, Hoyt Axton, and a cameo by Erik Estrada. The snake effects are by the Chiodo brothers who did Critters and Killer Klowns from Outer Space.
If anyone has already seen this, please let us know if it is laughable bad or mind numbing bad.
I wonder how long it will be before they make King Cobra vs. Boa vs. Python?
King Boathon
KING COBRA sounds like a good one. I think I'm like the only one who actually was entertained by ANACONDA.

King Cobra vs. Boa vs. Python vs. Anaconda!
Now there's a snake film.
And there has to be a snake cult involved...and Bruce Campbell shows up to kick the asses of all involved, reptile and human!
Lots of cliches but it wasn't that bad, liked the snake, it sure looked menacing and I admire the filmmakers effort not to cheat and use soulless CGO over good ol' animatronics.
Boring movie. Cheats you on the snake most of the time because you barely see if for most of the film and when you do you almost never get a full body look at it because it is really nothing more than a puppet cobra head. Did I mention how dull the movie was?
How dull was it?
KING KOBRA was made by the same guys that went on to make PINATA: SURVIVAL ISLAND, which looks like a masterpiece by comparison.
I remember turning on HBO and seeing King Cobra on. At first glance I was convinced that it was some kind of movie spoofing Anaconda. But the sad fact slowly slipped in...the movie was for real.
It isn't that bad, and the old guy from Karate Kid is in it. Master...something. Forgot. And I still want to figure out if he dies or not. They never made it clear to me.
