Title: Boot Camp Movies
Post by: Mofo Rising on November 11, 2001, 11:14:36 PM
An easy toss to the webmaster Andrew, but I thought all you others would enjoy it.

What do you think is the best boot camp movie out there?

I'm sure you actual veterans and current members will have a different opinion, but my favorite would have to be HEARTBREAK RIDGE, with Clint Eastwood thouroughly enjoying his role as the grizzled combat veteran.  Fifty years old and he can still best any man alive in hand to hand combat or intimidating dialogue.  Of course, I'm a sucker for any movie where the ragtag band of misfits is tuned up and turned into the crackest batallion in the group.

I'd also nominate FULL METAL JACKET for being the most disturbing, but it's nowhere near as fun as HEARTBREAK RIDGE.

Other nominations?

although Full Metal Jacket isn't anywhere NEARLY what modern basic training is like i'd stil have to say it's my favourite boot camp film.
