Larva (Jan. 22 )Vincent Ventresca (the Invisible Man from the SciFi series) ,William Forsythe, and Rachel Hunter
Looks like some beef cattle get infected with nasty parasites and the company is trying to cover it up. Might want to check that next hamburger after watching this.
Chupacabra: Dark Seas (Jan. 29) John Rhys-Davies, Dylan Neal
A scientist captures the creature and smuggles it aboard a cruise ship. Of course it gets loose and mayhem insues. The creature on the online poster looks rather nasty.
Saw the commercial for Larva last night. Looks like fun.
Poor John Rhys Davies, he was the great gimli, but now hes doing a sci-fi 'original' movie. Waste of talent.
Oh, trust me...Mr Davies has done some good stuff, but a lot of trash
Everybody needs a paycheck I guess. This is the second SciFi original I've seen him in, the other one was Dragon Storm. Pretty good looking dragons for a cheapo, but the rest of it was dreck. He only appeared for few minutes all together in it.
He kinda reminds me of David Warner, good actor consigned to crappy parts of late.
I haven't seen Vincent Ventresca in anything since Invisible Man, another good series SciFi axed before it's time (at least it got a 2 season run).
I actually got to interview the guy in the Chupacabra suit for Dread Central. It will be up the week of the Sci-Fi premiere.
And if you're interested in a lot of the upcoming Sci-Fi Channel/direct-to-video stuff coming our way this year then just wait until you the mega article BWARE I'm about to put online over at my Schlocktoberfest site.
Warner and Davies are the new John Carridine and Karloff...good actors who need to make house payments.
But, at least, you know they will give it their best, no matter the script handed to them. Thats the mark of a true pro.
Larva looks like it might actually be a cut above the usual sci-fi monster movie fare.
Curious if the beef industry will air any commercials during this one.
