Arrgh.  Watched this flick last night.  Serious letdown.  Here's the review:

Summary
A hypnotherapist with psychic abilites must help a girl who escaped from a satanic murderer before he kills again.

Review
A friend of mine once said: "You know what I love best about foriegn flicks? They only ship over the absolute best ones to the US. So, when you pick up a foriegn flick at Blockbuster, it's going to be good."

How wrong they were.

Close Your Eyes is quite possibly the most predictable thriller I have seen in many years. My wife and I picked it up after reading Leonard Maltin's review on the back of the box. I'll never trust Maltin again.

The film follows Goran Visnjic (ER) who plays a psychic hypnotherapist in England. He is forced by a female police detective to talk to a young girl who recently escaped the "Tattoo Murder"; who is going around the town kidnapping young girls and transferring his blood into theirs. The girl who escaped no longer speaks though, therefore they have no way of catching the killer.

The film does actually start out pretty well. It's premise is decent enough and the film carries itself quite nicely for about the first 30 minutes. Then everything in the film becomes a cliche.

By the 45-minute mark, you'll probably already know who the killer is. This makes every single twist from this point on quite worthless. The film tried too hard to be other more talented films. There are references to numerous pieces of Argento's work as well as Exorcist 3.

This film is a rental at best. Frustrating at some points, and downright laughable at others.

Anyone else seen it?
