No, it's real.....

And I thought we were fantatical...
I'm sure the fans, collectively, have deep enough pockets. If it could be set up properly, it could certainly raise the money. And it would only have to raise enough to make the show sufficiently profitable, not the full price of a season. The biggest obstacle I can see is that lots of fans are willing to chip in, but few have any faith in the other fans to do the same. Self-fulfilling prophecy.
There's also the question of whether some people are determined to kill the show. Screwing with its time slot and doing other seemingly boneheaded things make me suspicious.
And if the fans pay for the show, they would expect some say in how it is done. In theory, it could mean that Trek would be done right for the first time in many years. Would love to see Berman and Braga get the boot. It would be nice that the fans would have a genuine sense of ownership, but on the other hand, it could be trouble if they had legitimate cause to believe that they literally owned the show. That alone would probably scare Paramount away from the idea.
I'd certainly chip in a few bucks to save Enterprise, make TV history and create a show for the fans, but this idea will have to be developed a lot further before I take it seriously.

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH?!?!?
I say, good on 'em. I would do that if I was a bigger fan of Star Trek.
Maybe they thought they were told they were gonna get a date with that sexy Vulcan girl?
Ha ha ha ha ha... Nice one, AD.
I would chip in if they promise to kill the theme music.
