Title: Five really bad ones
Post by: Wence on March 02, 2005, 12:06:16 PM
Today I and a friend went to the video library to lend "Troll".
When I came out of the store, I had not just lend "Troll", I had bought the whole "Troll-Trilogy", "Hobgoblins" and "Creepozoids" (Creep Zone)
- for only 12 Euros (=12 $), YEAH!!! I am so happy to own some of the most crappy movies ever.

Andrew has already reviewed Troll 1 and 2. He has given only one slime point for
Troll 1 and two slime points for Troll 2 - why? WHY?

TROLL Part1 1986
We watched Troll 1 immediately and shrieked with laughter!
About thirty different trolls, fairies, small mutant creatures and huge monsters hanging around and living rooms that turn into a Jungle...

TROLL Part2 1990
You have to see it, to believe it!

TROLL Part3 1991
Not so good like the other two but still bad taste crap!

HOBGOBLINS 1988
The more supple cousins of the Critters. Good and funny!

CREEPOZOIDS aka CREEP ZONE 1987
Not yet seen - but I don´t know, maybe it´s too long ago.

Anyone a real fan of that slime, too?

The original troll was a favorite of mine since I was about 11, but troll 2 was absolutely unwatchable. Hobgoblins was cheap and dumb but at least the Coala bear-like creatures were fun. Creepozoids was, like Troll 2, just plain bad. Gotta love the fake rat the actress had to hold against herself to create the illusion of an attack, though!

s**t, I did it!  I watched "Hobgoblins" again!!!

It was long ago I´ve seen this mess and I must admit it´s cheap & stupid crap.
- I love it!  :)

"Hobgoblins" is what I would define as a "No-Budget-Movie".
Take:
- 4 puppets (even handpuppets work)
- 6-10 a***oles and call them actors
- one camera (that one of the a***oles is handling)
and watch Gremlins and Critters (+ try to remember what is happening in them, that is: some puppets are attacking some people)

The result is "Hobgoblins".

Man, there is so much crap happening in it...

I watched Hobgoblins on Myster Science Theater 3000. The movie started out badly enough but when the Hobogoblins showed up it actually became fun! But the garden tool battle went on WAY too long (this of course was before the goblins appeared)

"Creepozoids" is bad,  very bad, very bad indeed.  I rented the video back in the late 80's whilst on a day's leave, but without telling my good lady wife.  I think I was embarassed at renting Bad Videos.  Then, next weekend, my darling wifey announces that she's just been to the video shop and what has she rented - "Creepozoids".  Groan!
