(Actually, now that I think about it, this almost happened-- Years before Cronenberg's version, Frank Zappa approached Burroughs about turning Naked Lunch into an off-broadway musical. One can only imagine...)

Why not a musical version of "Scanners"?
A Zappa musical of "Naked Lunch"? I'm imagining titles like "Agent Lee Gets the Bug Powder Blues", "Suck My Mugwomp", "Interzone or Bust" and "Ballad of the Steely Dan Mark IV (Bring Your Own Noose)".
