Recently SBS [a TV channel here in Australia which mainly deals in foreign films and material, and lots of soccer,] has had a show called "Happy Tree Friends and Friends" which showcases a bunch of different anime shorts in one half hour episode. Included are
Petey and Jaydee: Action figure sized CG aliens discover office and hardware equipment and one ends up dying each time. Its ok, animation looks pretty good, and some of the concepts behind the machines works pretty good [one alien getting Laminated in the Laminating machine is pretty funny]
Angry Kid: British claymation about a smart mouthed bratty red headed kid. Pretty damn funny, since this kid is one annoying brat, which usually equals pretty funny moments, such as him being annoying in a car trip.
Happy Tree Friends: for those of you who don't know, it’s an animation about furry cute animals that end up getting killed in extremely brutal circumstances. Very great viewing. The character Flippy, a war veteran who has some very brutal flashbacks resulting in the quite gruesome deaths of his cute friends, is a favourite of mine, and I now have a figurine of him gracing my car's dashboard next to my Buddy Christ holding a lightsaber.

Finally this show has Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law: Quite possibly one of the funniest animations I have seen next to Family Guy [Simpsons and Futurama may be great, but this gives me many more laughs in a smaller episode as well!]
As far as I've been told this was part of the Adult Swim line up, but anyway.
This show is fantastic!!! Great parodies of Hanna Barbara characters, such as Fred Flinstone in a Sopranos-inspired mafia episode in which Harvey Birdman defends Flinstone. I can't stop laughing at the utter absurdity of this show.
Some memorable quotes and moments:
A stoned Shaggy getting pulled over by the police, and explaining that there's "A green monster at the old mill" then proceeding to drive off, getting shot at by the police.
George Jetson: "WE COME FROM THE FUTURE OF 2002!!!!" [waving hands around erratically] Birdman looks down at desk calendar with 2004 on it....
Black Vulcan: [explaining how he left the SuperFriends] They said it was some sort of budget thing. But I think it's because I complained that they were always pairin' me up with a white SuperFriend, like I was gonna start super-lootin' the minute they weren't watchin'. And you think I named myself Black Vulcan? Hell, no! I used to go by Supervolt. "Black Vulcan" was Aquaman's idea. And I said, well, maybe we should just call you White Fish.
Harvey: [explaining Race and Dr. Quest's relationship to Johnny Quest and Hadji] Your dad and Race were...'buddies.'
Hehe, I can't stop giggling about this show. I cannot recommend it more highly; great parody and great random funny moments. It just confirms and makes up some of those naughty little thoughts you had about all the Hanna Barbara characters in a very very funny way.

Also, as I type this, I just found out the DVD of season one is coming out this April. Hope its released here soon...

I'm a big big fan of Harvey Birdman, one of the funniest shows on TV. The Jetsons episode is one of my favorites....just watching them struggle trying to walk to his desk is hilarious.
does anyone know if teh Happy tree frinds dvd will contain the entire series 1 of harvey birdman? I'm trying to decide which one to buy. Happy tree friends is out already in Melbourne, but Harvey birdman not for a fe weks.
From what I understand, the Happy Tree Friends DVD that they have been advertising on TV is just Happy Tree Friends, otherwise wouldn't it be called Happy Tree Friends And Friends? That and from memory when I looked at it it didn't mention any of the other shows on it [but this was a fleeting memory]
I personally can't wait until Harvey Birdman comes out on DVD, though I don't actually know for sure whether its coming out here or not [I'd assume so] Even though a friend of mine has them all on his computer.
Since the DVD is getting released in April in the US I am assuming we will be a bit behind, but here's hoping it's released soon.

I like Harvey Birdman, I reckon it is so hilarous, yet so random. I have cable, and on Cartoon Network, Harvey Birdman is on every Friday at 11:15pm, I hope the DVD comes out to Australia.
To say, i have the HTF DVD and its pretty freking good. Harvey Bridman is funny sometimes, although sometimes it feels wierd. But you should really see Happy Tree friends and Angry kid on the net, those ones are gold.
And Volume two of the HTF DVD is supposed to be around may and Havey Bridman is already out in the us and is due heresoon but you should just import it.
Angry kid is on dvd with Series 1 and 2 and Petey and Jaydee can be bought on the net. But trust me, the two Webtoons (HTF and AG) are gold.

i lobe harvey birdman as well. It is one of the best cartoons i have ever seen. I want to buy the dvd but i don't think we can get it in Australia yet. I hope they release it here. I loved the Jetsons epiosode last week.
Happy Tree friends dvd only contains the animals part where they all die horribly. There is no Birdman, Angry Kid or any of that. We have to wait until they bring the Harvey Birdman DVD to Australia. If they ever will.
