I caught this Friday on IFC's Pulp Indies.
Jeff Fahey stars as a psychologist who gets his arm cut off in big car wreck. They have him stablized in the hospital when a female surgeon comes out to talk to his wife (Kim Delaney). Seems they can replace his arm with a donor's arm and they get her to sign the permission papers.
Trouble starts when he goes home and eventually finds out that the arm belonged to a serial killer. He then tracks down the other two guys that got the other arm and the legs from the guy. Brad Dourif plays an artist who suddenly has talent to with his new arem and paints pictures which look like the dreams Fahey's been having. The other guy that got the legs is also having problems. All three men's new limbs tend to have a life of their own occasionally.
When someone comes and claims the legs back is when the action finally starts.
I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen it, but it is worth as watch. The story is no more ridiculous than some of the Frankenstein movies I've seen.
I don't particularly like Jeff Fahey (something about his looks), but he does a fair job with his character.
I saw the trailer for "Body Parts" right before one of the Naked Gun movies. The audience was in hysterics for the whole preview. The trailer was so hilariously bad, we actually thought it was part of the Naked Gun movie. We thought it was a joke or parody trailer or something. I've never see the movie though. :-)
Saw this in the theatre when it came out, and have seen it a couple of times since. Not sure why, but I really like it. Just seems to be an entertaining film that puts a cool twist on some old ideas.
