Bob Clark is going to remake his 1972 Zombie movie. It's budgeted at $12 million and will be shot in Vancouver.
Andrew has reviewed the original.
Well this should be interesting, I always liked this flick. The campyness is something I don't think you can capture any longer.
Bob Clark, who directed the original, is rumored to direct the remake too.
I thought the premise of a bunch of actors hitting an island for a movie a bit of a stretch since nobody carried any filming gear of any kind, but you had to isolate everybody SOMEhow. Alan Ormsby was obnoxious, and I was amazed at how long his troup put up with his BS--at least he got et in th' end. All in all, I thought this a great flick, good pairing with The Video Dead. I hope Bob Clark keeps his tongue firmly in his cheek again, as a straight-forward fright flick like this I don't think would work.
Cha-Ching!!!!! $$$$$$
I can really hear all of the box offcie cash reigsters already beginning to ring on this one(since every past film you can easily name is fair game to be remade these days).

DUH! Trek Geezer SAID that in his post.
Maybe Clark wants to do what DeMille did with The Ten Commandments and Hitchcock did with The Man Who Knew Too Much . The remade then years later because they thought they could improve on the original.
