Okay, here is what I remember. Old black and white horror movie about a large yaht or maybe a cruise ship that is stuck in the ocean. The area around the boat is thick and bubbly and I believe it might have burned like acid if you touched it. I think there were some sea critters that would climb up at night to get you but I'm not for sure. I do remember that all the shots of the "water" at night had lots of fog shrouding the scene. I also remember some people that strapped on huge shoes and a weather balloon to walk across the evil water. Any help on this would be appreciated. Scott, if this one is on your site. That sounds like the Hammer film THE LOST CONTINENT (1968). It is in color though it may have been made available to some theatres in black & white.

Looked up the poster for The Lost Continent and that must be it. I am sure it was in black and white though. Thanks for the quick replies. Now I'm off the reminisce about other childhood horror movies...
