Title: Kate Beckinsale Poll
Post by: Dr. Whom on June 29, 2005, 08:25:15 AM
Recent comments on Underworld and Van Helsing have set me thinking: which Kate do you prefer: sleek and cropped in leather with big guns, or lots of curls in an boddice with a sabre (never mind the accent)?

I go for the leather & guns!

She is way hot no matter how she's dressed. I always did prefer leather and guns but I certainly wouldn't say "no" to her if she was dressed as she was in Van Helsing or anything else for that matter.  The hotness comes through no matter what.

I prefer her to dissapear from cinema and quit showing up in films that catch my interest as shes about a decent actress as jerry springer is a decent human being.

She looks good in anything, so who cares. Dunners, that was cold.

Sorry gents, just my opinion. I cant stand her, I miss the old days of scifi/horror when the movie was only ok but the alian ass kicking or vampire fighting actress made the movie.

We need Less kate Beckinsdales and Milla Jovovich's and more Sigourany Weavers,  Linda Hamiltons, and maybe a Jeanette Goldstein or two.

She's great in either leather and guns, or curls and bodices.  I was always surprised to see how attractive she looked in those movies because I never thought of her as being that attractive before.  Then I saw Underworld and Van Helsing and kept thinking to myself, 'who is that really attractive woman?  Heck, that's Kate Beckinsale???'

I thought she was absolutely stunning in "The Aviator."

Not only was she beautiful, she was a bit sassy...which I liked.

You can see her in the nude in Uncovered, an otherwise very unremarkable murder mystery, but I expect you knew that already.

I'd have to go with the majority vote on this one and say she is much hotter in skin tight pleather than she is in a skin tight bodice but I'd be more than happy to help her out of either.

As far as acting ability goes, there are a lot of people getting paid to do movies who can't act their way out of a paper bag.  Jeff Bridges, for example.  I am a huge grade 'Z' movie fan and anyone who admits that has seen more than their fair share of bad acting.

Then again, everyone occasionally makes makes a movie because they need to pay the bills.  Sometimes they even admit it.  Look at Jeremy Irons in the Dungeons & Dragons movie or the Time Machine or  Linda Hamilton in King Kong Lives!

Ask any Jack Nicholson fan about 'The Raven' with Vincent Price, Peter Lorre and Boris Karloff or 'The Terror' with Boris Karloff.  My brother in law, a huge Nicholson fan has a bad habit of 'losing' his copies of these movies.  Fortunately, I keep being able to replace them.....
