Dean mentioned that I should start by writing a few good OT posts.
Well here goes........
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Deciding which cologne is best is like asking a buddy of yours which chick is the hottest while the both of you are standing there, side by side, looking at five of them standing in front of you... all of them smokin' hot....... , Two straight haired brunettes with dark brown eyes. One silky, curly-haired blonde with blue eyes and tan skin (like Goldie from Sin City) and two freckly, fiery redheads just waiting for you to choose and escort one of them into another room...for a price.
My Visa checkcard has already been swiped across the reader.
(think of The Bunny Ranch in Nevada or some classy brothel in Moscow, Russia where the ladies are all fine as hell!...ever watch Cathouse on HBO?)
It's all a matter of opinion.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is about cologne! Remember?
OK....good!
My all time favorite cologne is Stetson.
I've never met a woman who didn't love that musky smell of Stetson. (it gets them HOT! Believe it!)
Another favorite of mine...one I recently discovered and give a solid "2nd place" to is "Curve" by Liz Claiborne.
A 4.2 oz. bottle like this will set you back about $30-$40
Trust me, it's worth it!
There are a few different variations of Curve....I bought Curve Crush. (the one shown above)
On the first sniff, you can tell that it has a spicy scent...not like Old Spice...very different.
It has a sharp smell...you can almost smell a hint of a pepper or basil in it.
A spice of some kind is the first thing that comes to your mind.
Here's the official description for "Curve Crush":
"A blend of skin tingling florals wrapped in seductive warmth. Curve Crush is a lush scent that begins with orange flower and gardenia followed by light mid notes of spice and vanilla. The scent closes on notes of amber and sandalwood."
That's a pretty good description. It smells like fruit (especially oranges) & flowers mixed with pepper and a hint of wood. (ever sniff a piece of lumber?)
Another good one is "Preferred Stock".
What cologne do you prefer?

the two colognes i cannot stand on men are Stetson and Drakkar. Mostly because stetson is a cologne most blue collar guys here wear, the ones who go to pool halls every night at the bowling alley and have mullets.
A guy at work always smells good and he doesn't wear store bought cologne, he goes to this shop where they custom mix lotions (and colognes i think) for men.
But since this is a thread about what guys think smell good on themself, i'll butt out ;-)
Wow...I didn't realize the return of Ash would be so...in your face, so to speak. I had forgotten about these wonderful threads (yeah, my favorite was the one about crushing glass in your hands...whew). Anyway, to jump on in so I'm not labled as an outsider or worse yet, a bitter insider, here is what I prefer...
I prefer a little known French fragrance called Ode de le Wette Dawg.
No colognes, period, and no heavily fragranced soaps or shampoos. None of that greasy mousse crap. Not even a heavily scented deoderant.
I spend all my money on the teeth. (http://www.mrbling.com/) Yaarrrrr!

every mullet man i ever did meet ;-)
OMG that reminds me, the other nite I was at a bar and was looking at the jukebox and noticed a mullet man cartoon staring at me. It was an official "mullet man album" that had songs like Billy Squire, Journey...heeelarious
Maybe they should bottle money and sex cologne fragrances for men and women. That would probably do really well.
Great....now Susan will forever associate me with Mullet Man. :(
Seriously though, Stetson isn't that bad.
It could be worse.
I could be wearing this:

Wasn't that stuff supposed to smell like strong gasoline?

GAHHHH!...don't Do that!
That Yahoo looks like half the people in my end of Cloumbus!
He's got that " What ya'll think ya looking at!?" stare, that immediatly precides the first thrown chair.
Hehe, now we're cooking with gas!
Personally I'd go with the two brunettes...
Wait, no that's not this one, um...Hmmm, Cologne....
Recently at a friend's 21st, a friend of mine told me I smelt nice, wearing my Emporio Armani Night which I'm fond of, though I'm a little concerned as to why he said that...
I'd say subtle scents are the way to go, since if you have something too strong, no matter how nice the scent is, it'll probably work against you in most cases.
I'm interested in hearing the female side of this since that's the main reason why we use it in the first place. Does it really make much of a difference, or is it just something to tick in the 'pro' column [assuming you like it of course]
My girlfriend Jessica seems to gravitate towards the more fruity colognes and perfumes, and recently at her work they have introduced, or are starting to introduce a 'make your own perfume' product, where you can select from a series of different 'flavours' and make your own, unique creation. Apparently it's pretty popular with some of their regulars, and I think it comes in your own personally labelled bottle, though I'm just going on what I can remember from our brief conversation on the topic a while back.
I have tons of this crap (my sister has worked for saks for years) closets full, drawers full and I don't use any of it. Most of it just smells the same and leaves me nausiated but if you want a good deal I'll hook you up with some. The only 2 I can recall off hand that had wacky bottles were le male and one bottle that looked like a car stick shift.

A car stick shift?
Weird.
What brand was it?

Just like a bad film a bad cologne can both smell terrible, leave you retching in a corner and pretty much ruin any chances you had with the opposite sex. So I guess we are just digging into the core of the whole issue of things which are bad. :-P
My mom and sister got me this Bora Bora for Christmas a few years ago. I have had more complements on it than any cologne I've ever used.
I'm new here too but I figured out that when a post has OT by it, it means it's off topic. Meaning it's not going to be about the main topic of this site which is Bad Movies. Maybe you're just new and didn't realize this or maybe you're just mean.
New? Me?
I'm going on 2500 posts here.
Definitely NOT new!
Sorry that was suppose to be linked to Laura's comments. I know you're a regular...lol
