Title: Gacy (2003)
Post by: Scott on September 06, 2005, 07:47:16 AM
GACY (2003) - This is a sick disturbing film because it's based on the true story of a real serial killer. It has an almost comic edge to it which makes it even sicker. The movie moves fast as he buries body after body in the basement. The smell must have been horrendous as people and even the police noticed. Encore Mystery Channel showed it last night.

I've seen this one sitting on the shelf at the local blockbuster but I just can't bring myself to rent it.  I've seen a few of these "serial killer" flicks including "Gein" which I was highly disappointed in.  If I'm not mistaken, the films were all made by the same company.

I also pass by this everytime at Blockbuster and that cover pic on the box creeps me out.
Apparently we aren't the only ones who haven't rented it...it's available everytime I see it.

One of these days I'll break down and rent it.

I think the biggest problem is casting Francis from Pee Wee's Big Adventure as a seriel killer who rapes and kills homosexuals.

I know you are, but what am I

Hey, am I the only one here that thinks clowns are creepy by their very nature?

I agree, at least at young age I was scared. The help of a movie like killer klowns from outer space however made the fear of clowns seem more ridiculous than anything to me.

And let us not forget Pennywise (Tim Curry) from "It." He's creepy enough without clown make-up on.

But, back to the topic. Then this is not the one from 1992, "To Catch a Killer" with Brian Dennehy as John Wayne Gacy. While I have not seen the other one, this is probably the better version, as it is probably less lurid.

This is worth a look. Kinda hard to decide and run out and rent it. The subject matter is not very uplifting, but this film keeps you watching and moves along well.
