ROADHOUSE: - starring patrick swayze.
would anyone else class this as a bad, bad film?
just awful...
It's a bad, bad film that's wonderfully fun to watch and is full of silly one-liners that are eternally quotable. It also has some good, early Jeff Healey music. I love the movie, though it certainly ain't high art.
I have to admit that when Spike runs this, I usually watch it.
It is lame-brained violent fun.
ditto here - silly fun
depressed crack addict, any film with patrick Swyze on it its a bad bad film. Its a consequence of his very poor acting skills.
Gotta love Steel Dawn (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0094033/)
"Pain don't hurt."
"Dang, that hurts, don't it?"
"That girl is ENTIRELY too intelligent to have an ass like that."
That movie's as good as the DiLaurentis version of Dune for horrid quotable one-liners. =) I love it.
PS: Laura, as someone pointed out in your troll thread, you can't make joking sorts of insults until people generally believe in your goodwill. And most of the vocal response to you has indicated that people don't believe in your goodwill as yet. That's a hint.
so that means that i cant give my opinion at any thread? im not trying to make people belive in my "goodwill".
My favorite lines are when Sam Elliot comes into the picture:
"Hey there compadre"
"All my ex'es live in Texas"
and
"The Double Douche"
funny stuff
there has been a swayze conspiracy on s**t cable lately.
Pain don't hurt.
No? Well watching you try to act sure does.
I will say that the movie does have one redeeming quality to it: the dance with the hat...oh yeah.
I have to admit that I'll watch nearly anything Swayze is in. He's fun! But I've only seen maybe about 5-10 minutes of this movie cut up on TV. But I remember when it was first released in the theaters! Girls were still swooning over PS because of 'Dirty Dancing'.....
yeah, just to clarify: Roadhouse is brilliant even though it's so bad... thats kind of what I meant.
never seen "Steel Dawn", I'm guessing it must be along the same lines of bad-ness.
My bad, Laura... I hadn't noticed that the thread starter's name is "depressed crack addict."
:P
I've never seen "Roadhouse." Never been that much of a Swayze fan, but I did see "Steel Dawn" in the theater. Think of it as "The Road Warrior," but in no way as good.
Haven't seen the whole thing, but nobody puts baby in the corner.
