Looks like old age did what KAOS couldn't, killed Maxwell Smart. Don Adams died Sunday at age 82.
Younger viewers may also remember him as the voice of Inspector Gadget.
RIP to Don, another of my childhood favorites gone.
GET SMART is a show that I truely loved. Both Bob Denver and Don Adams gone this month.
Mel Brooks and Buck Henry created the show. The show can proudly stand along with the other great spy shows and movies like THE AVENGERS and JAMES BOND.

I grew up watching the Get Smart reruns and I absolutely loved that show. I can't recall a single episode that I didn't like. Don Adams made Agent 86 absolutely hilarious in whatever situation he was in. My favorite episode... The Claw. Remember that one with the Chinese bad guy named The Claw? He tells Max his name:
Claw: Da Craw.
Max: Da Craw?
Claw: Not da Craw...da Craw.
Max: Ohh...da Craw.
That was some funny stuff and he was a great fit in that part. I am sorry to see him go.
Missed it by THAT much.
A respectul Cone of Silence for Agent 86.
He was also the voice of Tennesse Tuxedo on the Underdog show.
And a Marine during WWII.
But more importantly, Inspector Gadget.
Not Craw! . . . CRAW!!!

I always liked when Maxwell Smart called his boss "chief".
