To quote Spongebob..."I'm ready. I'm ready. I'm ready"
Any thoughts....good? bad?

I watched it last night. It actually bordered on being good, which really surprised me because I was expecting it to suck horribly. Obviously, there's no reason for it to be called Night Stalker, as the Kolchak character is about as close to Darren McGavin as Keanu Reeves is to Clint Eastwood, but if you ignore the title it's watchable. Kolchak's boss completely stole the show - it's refreshing to see a female character portrayed as something other than a b***h these days. Didn't know that was still possible. The story was sort intriguing. Even though the ending was just a huge load of nonsense (he sprays something out of a bug sprayer in the air, which apparently collects on the body of the killer "thing", which he's able to track via GPS back to its cave, where it's nice enough to let them rescue the girl without eating them). But for some reason it sort of pulled me into the story and got me interested.
I don't know, maybe I was just in one of those weird moods where anything would seem good. But I watched Surface later in the evening and it sucked even worse than before, so maybe not :)

Oh...don't even...
Yawn! I think this thing was dead before it started, just can't compete with Darin McGavin.
Being a fan of the original (which still shows up on places like Horror cable channels), I'm going to give this a fair trial....
Second I saw that the new series was more teen based AND it had Gabrielle Union I lost interest.
Good thing the entire Darren McGavin series is coming out on DVD (I can quit watching SciFi, for now anyway). Don't know if it will include the 2 tv-movies as those were already released in a 2 sided disc together. (Which a lot of people own already.)
Those two tv movies are each made up by splicing two episodes together...
I meant the original TV movies 'Night Stalker' and 'Night Strangler' that Dan Curtis produced before the series was made.
The major flaw: the lead character/actor has all the personality of an empty cereal box.
The major plus: the female lead is nice eye candy.
Definately nothing to go out of your way for, but if you can't think of anything else to do or watch it probably will help kill an hour without too much pain.
