RUSHMORE (1998) - Another good one, but I think I liked THE LIFE AQUATIC more. Notice the Marine life library book in Rushmore then Anderson doing another film about aquatic life. Thanks everyone for the recommendation.

I quite enjoyed this one too, but again, not as much as Life Aquatic. You really have to enjoy the rivalry between Murray Schawrtzman [who is also pretty good in I Heart Huckabees by the way]
It's just great the way those two played off each other.
**SPOILERS [I guess, it's not that important though]**
I especially liked Max Fischer's play at the end with it's overblown special effects.
Fantastic stuff, lots of quite silly stuff happening here!

I thought the story could have been different. The main character was well done and acted, but the three way relationship didn't work in this film. Loved the opening and ending of this film. Also Bill Murray isn't made to be a co-star like in KINGPIN. I liked seeing him in the film, but kept thinking he should be the lead or something.
The directors style is very good, but I didn't really think he had a story here. Overall a good film just missing something.
Watched this when it first came out on video and thought quite the opposite of everyone else. I found the movie very boring.
I'm a big fan of Anderson's films and this one is pretty good. Sure, it's slow but it's a film that grew on me. I didn't much care for it the first time I saw it but I eventually caught it on cable a few times and ended up buying the DVD.
And it does have one of my favorite bits of dialogue ever:
Max: I like your nurses uniform, guy.
Peter: These are my O.R. scrubs.
Max: Oh, are they?
good film...even better soundtrack. lots of good songs on that one.
The O R line was well done. Also got a kick out of Murray climbing the pool ladder.
I like Wes Anderson, too. Actually, I've seen and liked all his films, except his first one, "Bottle Rocket." Seemingly, he does a film every three years, so his next film should be in 2007.
If you watch this film, I suggest you watch it for the acting. Bill Murray, should have at least been nominated for an Oscar for Best Supporting Actor, for his work in "Rushmore."
