Charlies Angels: drew barrymore calls lucy lui's character lucy instead of alex.
the doors: meg ryan calls val kilmer val instead of jim.
the war of the roses: michael douglas addresses danny devito's character as devito.
spider-man: when trying out his web he breaks a lamp but in the next scene it is whole again.
commando: a porsche's left side is wrecked and as arnie drives it it's whole again.
harry potter and the philosophers stone: harry is sitting next to ron and then he's on the other side of the table sitting next to hermione.
gladiator: an overturned chariot reveals a gas cylinder.
speed: harry is shot in the left leg but later limps on his right leg..
the maltese falcon: sam spade slaps joel cairo and and his bow tie changes from spots to stripes.'"
You're right. Bad movies aren't the only ones with problems... but your list of "good" movies isn't exactly "good." "Charlie's Angels"? "Harry Potter"? "Speed"? These aren't what I'd call cream of the crop flicks.

He smacked him pretty hard
They were part of the list. I left them in.
The Lord of the Rings trilogy has enough to fill it's own web site....
I remember watching the Western HIGH NOON with Gary Cooper going behind one of the buildings from the main street and you see an air conditioner in the window. What year did they start making air conditioners?

I know it's a nitpick, but is that really a continuity error?
Watch Lethal Weapon sometime. When Danny and Mel are riding in the car and the camera switches between them, every time they go back to Danny the steering wheel and shifter are in different positions (sometimes in Park).
One of the greatest movies of all time (and my personal #1 favorite) THE GODFATHER has a tremendous number of continuity errors. The most obvious is during the wedding scene when Al Pacino is talking to Diane Keaton. The amount of wine in the glasses on the table keeps changing as the camera angles change. Check out IMDB for an extensive list of errors.
I seem to remember in the movie Bullet, once the car chase leaves the city, you can hear McQueen upshifting over and over. He must get that Mustang into 7th gear a few times.
I believe in Ben Hur during a chariot scene you can see a car in the background. Not really a continuity thing.
In Glory (1989) the 54th Regiment, while fighting its first battle, fire a volley and then charge the rebels. They fire without bayonets, but in the next shot they charge with fixed bayonets.
Okay, so the list is a mix of continuity and 'that shouldn't be there' errors.
In Spartacus, several of the gladiators are wearing watches and running shoes.
In Raiders of the lost Arc, there is a truck that flips because of an explosion but there is clearly a short length of telephone pole sticking out of the bottom of the truck when it rolls on it's side
In Rollerball (the remake) during one of the motorcycle stunts, the wire is clearly visible.
the war of the roses: michael douglas addresses danny devito's character as devito.
^^ haha now that's funny. they were in a war scenario so he didn't call him "danny" by mistake...he was in action mode and called him "Devito" LOL.
i Pee Wee's big Adventure theres a scene where he's pulling a "never-ending" bike lock chain from the basket on his bike, but if you look you can see it's being fed through a hole in the basket's underside.
Another one from "Bullitt." One they actually pointed out in some TV special about Steve McQueen. If you look closely, during the chase scene, they pass the same Volkswagen at least four times.

Maybe they were just circling the block?
