Title: help with movie
Post by: chris on January 02, 2002, 10:10:48 PM
I watched this film a couple years ago, and from what I remember it was about a couple of survivalists or hunters in the woods being stalked by some unseen creature.  Paranoia begins to tear them apart and one by one they start getting snuffed.  I also remember that there was a army general or colonel who tried to take control.  The big surprise at the end was that it wasn't a creature at all, but  two stoned hippies trying to protect their planted weed.  Thanks in advance to anyone who knows and you also have my sympathies for having to sit through it too.

Well at first I thought it was High Plains Kill, but then I got to the part about the hippies(damn them!). I have no idea!

I know this film of which you speak... It's called "Though Shalt Not Kill...Except" (awesome title!) and it's one of Sam Raimi's first films . I'm not sure, but I think it predates Evil Dead.

Nope.  That ain't it.  I own that movie on DVD and yes, it does have hippies on a murderous rampage, but I'm afraid it's not to protect their pot supply, but as everyone knows hippies have an unquenchable thirst for blood (or as it's called in this fine film, "the sacrificial fluids...okey dokey?").  It's actually Josh Becker's first film, who is a close collabarater with "The Great One" Sir Sam Raimi, but Raimi does star as the Manson-like hippie leader. Great film, great title, but not the one I was thinking of.  Thanks anyway, and I should also note, because I like to think I'm so smart, that it doesn't predate The Evil Dead.
