I'm not sure how many of the people who visit the board are familiar with Frappr. It is a site where you can make groups dedicated to most anything. It uses Google Maps to pinpoint where each member of the group is and you can post your photo and all that.
Well, I started one for this board. (http://frappr.com/badmovies)
So, feel free to post your picture and location.
Hey, that's kind of fun. I added myself.
Now you can see me in all my geezerness.
I added mine.
That's a great idea. I'll add mine later when I get home.
I added my name and location to the list, but I'm not too comfortable adding a pic.
Me too, no pic though, I'm at work.
-Ed
Neato! Though I may be too much of a newbie to add myself. (http://www.smileys.ws/sm/grinning/00000001.gif)
Odinn...all you need is a double barrel shotgun in that pic.
LOL!!
I added my geographic standpoint. But I want to change my "shout out". One can add shout outs, but how can one delete them?
I can't believe they list Vaughn but not Toronto.
Can you add cities?

Thanks Ash, I'll take that as a compliment. I've often been told I look like a serial killer. I don't know, is that a good thing or a bad thing?
My daughter snapped that of me last February When I was getting ready to go outside and take care of the snow. Not one of my most favorite things to do.
I wanted to add a pic, but I'll remain a faceless mass.

Hey, come on people. What fun is it if you don't post your pic on there? Like any of us are going to make fun of you. It's cool to be able to put a face to a name.
Come on those of you not doing it...rethink this. I think it was a great idea that Skaboi (who btw, looks nothing like I pictured) came up with. You're all safe to post your pics, nobody's going to talk s**t at you.
Odinn,
I agree. Posting the pictures is half the fun. I never would have thought that Trek looked like he did, and yet you look as I kind of thought.
So Odinn, I've got to ask the question....what exactly did you think I would look like?
Trek looks nothing like I pictured.
He reminds me of a state patrol officer. All he needs is a badge in that pic.
I originally pictured him as a kind of redneck with a moustache wearing a camoflage vest and hat.
Sorry...lol...I have family in Arkansas and whenever I think of Arkansas, I think of rednecks wearing camoflage hunting gear.
And I agree, posting pics is fun.
Post Edited (10-25-05 21:16)
Trek actually looks fairly close to what I pictured.
Skaboi, I kind of thought you would look more like a gothic skater type. Long hair, black clothes with lots of safety pins (haha) and many piercings. I don't know why, I have no reason for it really.
I've seen Ash's picture before, but odinn7's picture kinda surprised me. The picture I posted is one I took with a webcam at work right before I posted it. I knew that Skaboi works in tech support like I do, so I wasn't too surprised by his picture.
Mofo Rising's pic looks like one of those celebrity mugshots over at the Smoking Gun website.
Actually Ash , I have lived in a lot of places and they all have their versions of Rednecks and we don have an over abundance of them here. I've been told I looked like a narc before, but never a state trooper.
My picture is a little dark, so I may change it out for something better.
Nice idea Skaboi, it's good to put some names to the faces, even if I feel like yelling 'Watch out it's the Feds' when looking at odinn7's pic! :-P
Of course I'm just kidding about that last part!
I'll upload something once I find some time to search for a picture in which I don't look like a complete goofball [which is going to be difficult!]

Odd, I've had numerous comments over the years about things that I look like but nobody ever implied any kind of resemblence to law enforcement.
Ashthecat..Dude...anyone tell you, you have Sam Rami eyes?
Neat! I like it....Semper Fi, carry on!

I added my location, but I didn't have a picture of me, so I improvised. I'll add a different picture later.

I am in my pic. Nobody seems to want to guess which one is me though. :(
It's from when I went to the Tromadance festival a couple of years ago.
Hint: I'm not one of the girls.

Ok...are you the guy in the white shirt?
I'm guessing you are Sgt Kabukiman?
Yep. You can't tell by the pic, but it's a "The Adventures of Fratman and Pledgeboy" t-shirt I got as a free giveaway by the filmmaker. You can see it better in this pic:

Well, that's one life-long ambition fulfilled. I could have picked a better picture, but I don't think I would have found that nearly as amusing. Also, the size of the pictures doesn't leave room for much more than headshots.
odinn7 wrote:

It's the moustache that did it really, for some reason I could really picture you standing up in the middle of some criminal meeting and yelling 'This is a raid!!' But then again I'm just going nuts from lack of sleep here since I could swear that Derf looks like a chicken with a skull for a head... now that ain't natural! :-P
Yes...unfortunately, that is what Derf looks like. It was a childhood accident and they had to replace his body with a rubber chicken and his head with a skull. Tragic, simply tragic.
As for myself, I'd never make it as a cop. I would have way too itchy of a trigger finger. But, thanks for being one of the few who didn't put me in the serial killer category.
Okay, I posted a picture of me before the accident odinn7 mentioned. I think you'll all agree, the post-accident shot is much more flattering.
Derf wrote:

That and one must say the post accident photo does show off your thighs much better...
Anywho, I finally got my hands on the fantastic group picture a friend of mine drew/manipulated of a bunch of my good friends at our 'formal' in our final year of high school. He made it last week and has given a framed copy of it to everyone in the photo [porn stars not included sadly] for our 21st birthdays. It blew me away it was so good [and so damn special as well!], so I've been bugging him to give me the file, which finally happened tonight. I guess it's a 'Where's Wally' puzzle to solve for you folk!
Mofo Rising wrote:

That's not true; if you click on the photo it shows the normal size of it, and when I did I was confronted with a lifesize picture of your mug[its a big pic!!]
I gotta admit the picture quality is pretty damn good on it: you can see every sordid detail! What type of camera did you use? Or is that a question I should be asking whatever law enforcement agency that had you in for some head shots? :-P

Ye Gods, you're right. I feel I must apologize for inflicting that image upon the unsuspecting. I figured the program automatically scaled down the image, so I didn't bother to reduce the size. I'll put up something less frightening when I find the time.
The camera is a Canon PowerShot A80, which is pretty good for detail when set to macro mode. I generally leave it at it's highest resolution since I can always reduce pictures later, but not vice versa. This is why the size of the file is so large (1.56 Mb!).
Whoops. Just tried uploading a new photo, but I uploaded it twice and it left the old one.
Skaboi, I guess you're the only one who can delete photos. If you delete the double post and the old picture it would be appreciated. That is, whenever you find the time. Thanks in advance.
Cool . . . this is sort of like "The Bad Movie Crew Does America" (or the world, for that matter).
Mofo,
Changed per request.
If anyone wants to change anything on the site, feel free to do so. Just email me at: george@sipen.com and I'll be more than happy to email you the password to the site. I want it to be something that we can all have control over, but I feel uneasy about posting the password in the thread, you know with lurkers and all of that.
I'm really glad that everyone is doing this. It's great to see where everyone lives, and great to see the photos.
This is cool. I've added myself. That picture is five months old and it's at my graduation party. I'm a bit thinner now but I still love BadMovies.
Yea, I put my photo up also. Neat idea. Love the map thing also. The photo was taken in Kaibab Arizona about a year and a half ago. I live in New Jersey though. Inside the store behind me are signed photos of all kinds of Western movie stars from Lee Van Cleef to John Wayne.
Never did find out much from the fellow seated next to me.

So Scott...which one is you?
I'll never tell Odinn7 ! ! !
Couldn't get the thing to work, but now it suddenly does. Added a picture.
This is a great idea. Some of you guys look nothing like I pictured you. I'm sure you can say the same about me.
Cool spelunking pic man. Where's the cave you're in?
Mofo Rising might be in Collossal Cave just outside Tucson, Arizona or maybe Karchner Caverns between Tucson and Tombstone. (http://www.smileys.ws/smls/yahoo/00000033.gif)

Scott wrote:

Or I may be in the jungles of eastern Ecuador.
I wasn't really spelunking. It's actually a picture of me as I was taking a hike through some extremely muddy jungle path. The "cave" actually only goes back a few feet. (The person taking the picture was actually standing outside of the cave.) The headlamp is mostly for illumination while walking underneath the rainforest canopy. It can get very dark, especially if the sun starts going down.
This was one of the only pictures taken of me on that trip using my camera, so here it is.
Hmm. Maybe I should have attached the picture to Quito, Ecuador. I don't live there, but it might be interesting to see the many places the badmovies board has travelled.

FInally got a pic up. But put it up twice. My comp hiccuped...anyone know how to remove a duplicate?

Ummm, make that thrice... Sorry folks.

I changed my pic (now you can actually see me), I'm the one with the red hair.
I deleted Ed's duplicates. Don't ask how , it's magic..

Okay, time for some comments.
Odinn7: I am so disappointed. Soft tip darts? And the board is not even at regulation height.
Scott: See what happens when you discuss Jess Franco movies?
Dave: It is okay if you reduce the file size before you upload the picture. (http://www.smileys.ws/smls/action/00000042.gif)
Geeze: Yep, about what I expected; a six foot 3 year old. (http://www.smileys.ws/smls/grinning/00000032.gif)
I'll have more fun at the rest of y'all's expenses later (yuck, yuck, yuck).
I resent that, I am actually a 6'3" 210 lb 50 year old going on 14.
By the way, when will we see your mug gracing that site?
Post Edited (11-15-05 11:48)
Depends if I can actually find a photo. Being a photographer, I have developed a talent for avoiding cameras myself, so I do not have many pictures with me in them. I will see what I can find as I go through things at the old house.
Menard wrote:

Soft tip darts only because I have a 5 year old. The bristle board is tucked away until later. And point of fact, the board is regulation height, 5'-8" to center of the bull but it doesn't look that way in the picture. Both my wife and I spent years on dart leagues until we moved up here and all they seem to be able to offer is pool leagues.
And what's with that banjo comment? Come on down here and I'll make you squeal like a pig.
Now, stop the lies and excuses and put a picture of yourself up there so we can have some fun with it.

That's Lake Wateree in central SC, July 4, 2004. It is a pretty little lake and surprisingly uncrowded with boat traffic, even on holidays.
Oops. I'll try and get around to that.
Skaboi has come up with a neat idea here. It's going to be hard to keep this link on the front page of the messageboard. I wonder if Andrew could make his own page with the maps and all for this website or maybe make a link to Frappr.
I agree, it's great to put a face to the name [well its great in most cases, scary in others! :-P]
But if Andrew's busy, I guess it's on us to keep this thread in the frontlines by posting pics of what we are up to via holiday snaps or just random pictures of us doing things.
Either that or brainwash the masses into contributing, and once they have we know where they are and exactly where to send the B-movie hit squads...
i choose to keep my secret identity concealed :-p
Aw don't be so shy Susan. I was sort of hoping you'd unmask yourself since you were one of the earliest member around.
Oh well do what you want it's cool.
There's one of me. It was hard to find one with a genuine smile, 'cause I usually can't, for a camera. So you can all rest assured that I don't look like one of Fred Saberhagen's demon lords.
I've posted another picture and I shrunk it down a bit since Menard had a problem with my first picture, so blame if it's looks a little odd. (I pretty much shrank it down by selecting it and tried to divide it's sizes by half manually in a paint program)
This is was August. And the girl right next to me is in fact.
BA DA DUM!
My first crush.
Well she was my first (and still) only crush. yeah that's the girl that I made a topic asking for advice with this whole "crush" thing. Right now we're friends and I'm really cool with that (especially since I now realize how much work there is in college, even though we're both in the same class program. At least I get to see her a lot there)
This was at her house and our graduation party was going to be later that eveing. She invited a bunch of her friends and to my complete delight, that included me!
And yes she really is that small.
Susan wrote:

A while ago you put up a picture of yourself and some of us did see it so your secret identity is not safe anyway, Susan. You have no reason to be shy with your picture.

Yup, no reason to be shy, but Susan did post a funny picture, so it's all good. Plus who are we to judge? For all we know that could be her real Full Moon face and boy would that put our feet in our mouths!
that pic i uploaded here wasn't me just some random person i saw on the street...yeah, that's it
Btw dave - you need to tell that girl to eat a pork chop and put some meat on her bones!
Dean - which one are you? lol I used to have a program where you could put peoples faces on various images from old black and whites with hillarious captions to swimsuit models. I had the most fun with that, the images i saved to this day bring tears to my eyes ;-)
Excuse me but my friend is quite healthy. She has muscles on her arms and legs from dancing.
And she certainly is no twig thin model (thank god)
And beside she can't eat meat, most of the time it upsets her stomach.
You ,by the way, need to shave in your picture,

Hahaha, zing! :-P
As for me, if you were keeping track of the 'Who do you look like' topic, you'd note that I've been compared to Where's Wally, and as such finding me [unlike Wally] is an easy feat for the picture I posted. I'm the crazy doctor at the back by the way. I'm going to put a better picture of me without the crazy up on frapper once I get my hands on my sister's digital camera.
dave - i was actually trying to be funny....considering at the end of your post when you were talking about the girl and the photo you actually made a point to say "yes, she really is that small".
I don't need a shave any more than cousin it. That's why I don't show my true identity, too many comments from the peanut gallery....
I didn't think you were being mean but I didn't think you were kidding either.
And what I meant was (whisper) "short".
I was kidding about the shave thing. you don't have to unless you want to. As for me I have to shave for my classes. So enjoy your hair.
daveblackeye15 wrote:
> As for me I have to shave for my classes.
Are you a test subject for medical school? (http://www.smileys.ws/smls/grinning/00000047.gif)
Nah.
All of us have to shave because in pretty much every restuaurant and class we're not allowed facial hair unless it's grown during vaction into a proper beard or mustache.
I don't really want a beard but it's still a bit annoying to have to reshave every two days or so.
Hang on were you kidding there?
Don't let these pod people make too much easy fun of you, Dave. And she's a pretty girl. :)
Funny how touchy people can get when images of real people start getting uploaded. Guess I just haven't seen a board go through this particular phenomenon before. I do enjoy seeing what people look like here, though. Reminds me to be mindful of the human beings (with feelings) reading what I write.
Besides, I know what Susan looks like. Have a look. (http://img518.imageshack.us/img518/5961/doateaserfinal41pk.gif)

And yes I know she's BEAUTIFUL, she'd appreciate hearing that.
Frappr to the top!
This need a sticky! Cool stuff happens on this site every day directly related to this community of bad movie lovers. Give it its place!
Oh no. Now this thread just cannot disappear.(http://www.smileys.ws/smls/grinning/00000044.gif)
Thanks for making this one a sticky. It'll be great to see more and more members add pictures.
Update:
Just added a few photos of myself.
Great that this is now a sticky. Come on people, start posting yourselves.
I added 2 more.
Just added myself. Look for the red marker over the north-east of Spain. It is sort of weird to see me THAT far away... I'll try to find a decent picture of myself to add to the profile, but ain't promising anything.
EDITED: Added a picture I found, it's me and some other people taking an Office 2003 course last year. I'm the one on the left, the big balding guy.
Added another pic, I'm the one with the glasses and the somewhat goofy grin on my face.
Uploaded another pic. I took the photo, so luckily you're not subjected to my face in this one, but I thought people may appreciate it.
Guess the location. First to get it right gets ten points and a free copy of Gigli*
*painkillers, postage and handling, bottle of Scotch and personal dignity not included.
Uh...it's a parking garage...I hope I didn't win.
For your sake, you don't win.
Look beyond the parking garage [and the cars] and try and see where I am that may make it significant for this board. I'm sorry I couldn't get a better picture but the light down there is pretty shocking. Come on! I know some of you know where this is from!
For those who don't already realise, it's from a movie, so just tell me where it's from and you can win a prize!!
I'll post the answer at the end of the week and an explanation of how I came to be in that certain place at that certain time.
Of course, I really hope that someone guesses the movie this is from.
And don't forget the prize!!!! [maybe that's what is putting people off...]
It was an action film. Maybe a James Bond film. Wait.................no........... it's from GIGLI ?
Is is me or is the board broken? The map won't load up nor will the members list open. But there are pictures of the recently added.
I think the movie is from La Femme Nikita.
No on both counts, it's not La Femme Nikita or Gigli, though Scott gets extra credit for mentioning Gigli again.

Sorry Scottie, that's a no go.
First Clue: It is from a late 70s film.
I would assume that 90% of the people on this board would know that garage pretty well, however, under threat of Gigli, we dare not say.
I will however say that I think that garage would look very nice if it were full of yellow cars with blue rearends & red streeks with psychedelic blinkie thingies on top.
But under threat of Gigli, I will not say the name.
If you subject me or anyone else to Gigli, you will be punished, and instead of hot coals, you will eat CHOCOLATE ICE CREAM... no, wait a minute. I shall inlflict upon you THE WIZARD OF MARS!

Congratulations, you are indeed correct. Good going lilcerberus!
I also release anybody from the threat of Gigli, so if you knew what it was, but was frightened by the power of Gigli, go ahead and speak up if you know what film it was from.
Mad Max
I don't want anything to do with Gigli
Don't forget to tell us how much you enjoyed the movie after you receive your copy of GIGLI, odinn7. (http://www.smileys.ws/smls/grinning/00000021.gif)
Yup it is indeed Mad Max, and I'm happy to send either odinn7 or lilcerberus a free copy of Gigli if they so desire it, though methinks that they'd rather nail their hands to a rabid, hungry, man-eating crocodile it seems.
That parking lot is at my university, which is no small source of pride for me. I went there at the start of the week and was wandering around [it was a great day so I brought a camera and took some really nice shots of the city] and thought I may as well post a pic of that garage since you folk may appreciate it.
Thanks Dean. That was cool and it's great that you can appreciate the fact that it was the garage in the movie.. I had a suspicion earlier on that it was the same garage but wasn't positive until I heard about the yellow/blue cars.
Last of the V-8s!
When do we go for a ride?
Wow Mad Max.
My next guess was I Spy.
For what it's worth, I just added my photo.
Hey Mitch, you didn't bring back any Morlocks?
No but I did bring back this chick called Weena. She's such a sweetie, but she's not the sharpest kid on the block. I pulled her out of a river ;-)
Added a picture of my fearsome kitten. I screwed up and didn't resize the photo properly though, so if you click the thumbnail you get waaay too big an image. Sorry about that. (does someone have the admin password so I can fix it? Ska?)
Zap,
Email me for the password. I'll be more than happy to give it to you.

I agree. Of coarse, While I'm not sure just how many people emailed you personally requesting the password, or if posting your email to request it caused you any problems, I really don't think the password should be sitting out where nosey neighbors can find it.

Understandable. Previous post has been edited.
Here's a question -- how do you edit your entry if you move?
Odd, but I haven't been getting my e-mail notifications about Frappr group updates lately.
But I digress.
I just started my own Frappr group, and it seems they've added a few new features, such as tags (keywords) which show related groups, and several new colors for location pins.
Y'all might want to look into it.
Am I really the only board regular in California? I can't believe it!
Just for the hell of it, I enabled the different color pins. If people don't like it, feel free to disable them again.
I don't know if there's an easier way to edit your pin color than going through the admin.
Yup. Someone could have a lot of fun with those labels.
wow, great idea. Put my picture up...it's cool to have a face with a name on here, although I am still waiting to see Susan..lol. Nice bag btw.
"Cause you are beautiful...in every single way...."
You look like a mix of Michaelle Trachtenberg and Drew Barrymore. So yes, you are gorgeous
Since you like movies, you might consider acting. I bet, with a face like yours, you could get very far.
So, plan9... when will we see your picture gracing that page?
I looked up Michelle, but I look NOTHING like her. Drew Barrymore I have gotten many times, especially in the 90's. When I had short brown hair I got Teri Hatcher a lot and I got Charlize Theron when Devil's Advocate came out. Then I got Uma Thurman when I had the Pulp fiction hair cut. I don't think I look much like any of them, except maybe Drew...but lately we don't look to much alike, and I don't look that sweet niave and innocent...lol.
I got it A LOT when Poison Ivy came out...even then I was taken aback. People even called my parents to tell them "keep her away from my husband" as a joke.
As for acting, I did a lot of theatre and went onto college for film. I was in about 5 student films, but then I found a love for education and philosophy and such, so I changed my major. A good and bad step. Good because I grew a lot from it, and sort of broadened my horizens. I stopped living in the "American Bubble" so much. I am all set at this point to pursue an acting career, but it was a road I was VERY close to taking...and who knows, maybe a few years from now I will change my mind about some things/.
so where's your pic?
Plan9 probably doesn't want you to know that he is only 13 years old. I am assuming this from the quality of his posts.
Zing!!!
Just added mine.
I was taking a look at a couple of Frappr maps I'm on, & the boards have been loaded up with folks who don't have markers or profiles, & their shout-outs are ads for Xanex & whatnot.
The Badmovies map seems to have been spared so far, but you might want to keep an eye out.

It is amazing how quickly advertising and porn spread to every single part of the internet, even those parts that you can't conceivably see could be related.
I added mine.
Well, look at that, it seems I'm the only Canadian here!
I added myself and my boy......
Added myself. Only with a picture with my werewolf mask on though, since I' m camera shy, and don'tt exactly like 'strangers' seeing my photo, no offense.

i just added myself. I'll get a picture up there as soon as I can find a digital picture of myself. I know I'm very behind in the times.
I see at least six of us Canadians on the map. We'll just have to wave harder.
Hmmm... I'll have to find a picture eh?
adden myself, I'm the 2nd Swede^^
Howdy! I'm old to the site, new to the forum... do any of you ever get together for events/viewings/etc., especially in Chicago? I've lived here a year, and have found there is a surprising dearth of people interested in seeing Troll 2, Bucket of Blood, Snowbeast, etc. etc., which is a tragedy.
I've joined !
