I just watched Dany The Dog, and I have to say that I was impressed. I don't think it fits in the "bad movie" idea, but I had to post it on here with my urge for outhers to see it. Jet-Li did a great job in this film.
This is the story of Danny, a slave who has lived his whole life without any sort of normal human education, with the mind and personality of a young child, with only one lesson learned: how to fight. Treated like a dog by his owner/boss, Bart which includes having to wear a collar, Danny has been raised to be a lethal fighting machine who fights in illegal gladiator-style fight clubs, where he earns lots of money for Bart as the undisputed champion. After a car accident that lands Bart in a coma, however, Danny meets a kind elderly blind piano tuner on the run because he knows secrets some bad guys don't want known, who uses music to teach Danny some things about the world and about being human...Summary written by austin4577@aol.com... on IMBD.com
Check it out, and see what ya think. I guess it might fit in the Bullet Ballet genra that has been mentioned on here before.
Danny the Dog must be the alternate title for "Unleashed".
No wonder they changed the title here for American audiences.
I thought you were referring to a children's movie at first.

That's why I'm upset they changed the title: I would have loved to have seen some little kids getting all happy about seeing a film about a cute little puppy called Danny and then shown Bob Hoskins being a cruel bastard. It would have been great.
Oh I really enjoyed the film too. Especially the Massive Attack soundtrack [I'm a big fan.]
I was very dissapointed and upset that this wasn't about a cute doggy.
So far this is the best Jet Li film I've seen. The story, simple and incredible as it is, works like a charm, both Hopkins and Li get to flex their acting muscles and the action is just the way I like it, both sudden and brutal. I could have done without Morgan Freeman (can't remember how many times I've seen him playing similar characters), but hey, when was the last time you saw him delivering a bad performance?
I think they renamed the movie for the US for just the whole kiddie movie idea. People in the US sue over the dumbest things, and I could see some bored house wife getting her war paint on over her little brat watching the movie. I think the cover should be a big give away that it is not a kiddie movie.

No, they renamed the movie because the title, "Danny the Dog" is one of the most ridiculous titles for a hardcore action film ever.

True, but the movie is still good.
