Apparently we are all scared to post new topics here with the new layout and all that. Come on people, it won't bite.
munch munch munch munch...
Well I guess we could all ask: where were you when the new board came online?
What was your reaction? Do you even realise it's changed?
I for one, came home from work, logged in: everything seemed fine. Then I clicked on a thread and BAM I was in a new and unusual land...
As for my mind now, it's a little frazzled [just been to the BEST GIG EVER!! Amorphous Androgynous are so f**king brilliant!] but despite this, my mind is pretty used to this new forum, and I think everything will settle down once all the 'new' signs start to die off and I can get back to a proper rythmn and such...
Needs a help to click, I had to poke around a bit to get things going the way I like.
Yeah, I noticed the lack of activity this morning as well.
Everyone must still be getting used to the board; I know I am. Thankfully, I found how to switch the posts to a threaded view instead of flat.
Hopefully this format will grow on everyone.
I don't mind it too much other than everything seems like it's in bold type. Some of the features are pretty cool.

Ditto that about threaded view. It took a bit for me to get it. For those who have not found it yet, go to My Control Center, Forum Settings, then Thread Override.
Actually, I really like that this is user settable now (was it before??). Sometimes, with some threads, I prefer to do a flat view; but mostly I like the threaded view.
I've been out for a couple of days with a hard drive problem. I saw the new board last night before the old green and black was set up, and man that was a SHOCK. (I also knew it was only temporary).
Thanks Andrew for putting the time in on this forum.
Wait a minnit, uh . . duh . . .
(the onion experiences a bit of spatial disorientation, rights himself with a wiff of glue)
Interesting look. May take a bit of squinting to get used to it.
I like this new setup. The bold type is alittle odd but I guess I will get used to it.
I'm not typing anything more here until the board is back exactly the way it was.
This board totally sucks now this way.
It's like it took a giant step backwards.
I could say something snotty, but I won't. What I will say is that is Andrew's board and he has every "right" to change it as he sees fit. Most of us seem to be trying to adapt, and I think in the long run, we will grow to like this one even better.
After all, you have to faith that there are good reasons for the changes. For example, this version MAY just have better anti-spamming measures and other features that make administration of the board easier. If that's the case, this one gets my vote with no contest.

Whoa...You heard the man Andrew, you better change it back or he won't post any more.
I'm starting to like it. It just took a little getting used to but I think it's got some real potential.
Bah, I just looked it up now and we now have black back with white un-boldened text. Things are a-changin' so your greivances are being heard!
Besides, I'm pretty much used to it now: it really isn't that bad!! Just tweak the settings a little for your personal needs, and it's pretty much the same board. I really don't know what the big fuss is about...
Though this line at the bottom of this text box is a little worrying: "This is a moderated forum. Your message will remain hidden until it has been approved by a moderator or administrator"
Does that mean we are going to get censored/moderators need to approve every post? That seems like a lot of effort...

My GUESS is that this is a setting in the admin that Andrew just has not changed yet. I saw it, too, for a new topic I submitted.
It was saying that a few minutes ago but it's done now. Perhaps it was that way while Andrew was working with it.
I am figuring out the settings. The text should be non-bold now, except where it seems to be the right thing to do. The color scheme should look a lot like it did before.
The bit about posts needing to be approved - that was me screwing up a setting. Fixed that now too.
I may just be tired and in a foul mood, but your post was the most childish thing I have run into today. And I have a daughter who is 2. I have warned you before about finding ways to express yourself and be polite. Do not make the mistake that I am some sort of swell guy who always tries to get along with people.
My apologies.
Only thing that troubles me is that there doesn't seem to be a way to see all the responses on one page like before. Any pointers? I'm still trying to figure out if I liked it better before.

Go to the top and see My Control Center and then go to options/forum settings. I believe you will need to make the thread views "flat" in the selection boxes.
I've had at least two posts vanish without a trace, either being deleted by somebody (which I seriously doubt) or not registering for some reason....

The same thing has also happened to me.
My "Ultimate Star Trek Collection" thread that I wrote 2 days ago has disappeared.
It's a conspiracy to keep post count down, I suspect...or maybe the post was just too controversial and had to be removed...ya know, for the well being of us all.
Andrew mentioned the reason for it in another post. The one at the top of the board, I think.
